Re: Utd v Alloa ~ Sat 21/7/18 (3pm)

Heading to Tanny for this. Think it will be a poor crowd after the poor start and negativity. Need a strong, decent performance from all to give the fans some hope.

Got to support my team, even in the current state of play. ‘Mon tae phuk United.

Yes I'll be there also, bought tickets for home games before the Arbroath match, which i'm regreating now as Csaba treating these games like glorified preseason friendlies, or so he says!!

Not bothering with it today.
Not interested in paying £15 for what’s effectively a preseason match.

Re: Utd v Alloa ~ Sat 21/7/18 (3pm)

If there were any encouraging signs I could just about accept the 'treating it as a Pre-season game' stuff.
But there isn't
This team, as it stands, could easily be relegated.

Didnt think the first half was that bad but the 2nd was fucking horrific.
The boy rabbit got subbed at HT and rightly so he was brutal.
The lad barton looked no bad first half but poor 2nd.

We totally lack creativity

That's my take on today too. Barton looked knackered in the second half though. Glass looked good going forward but was caught a few times defensively and got a bollocking off of the goalie but he'll learn. Aird needs to stop cutting inside all of the time.

Both Keatings and Clark would be much more effective playing beside a big target man.

Bang on for me Nemo - just to add that both Clark and Aird seriously lack pace, which is a big worry for me

Re: Utd v Alloa ~ Sat 21/7/18 (3pm)

Agree we Bowers. Thought the 1st half was better than last week, but the 2nd half was dreadful.

So many things wrong. Pace was off afainn. Nae chunt up when opposing team get corners. Taking yer 2 strikers off, playing McMullen in the centre ( he never touched the ba for 7 minutes when he came on).
Giving away 3 penalties over 2 games (yeah-men the were debatable). Missing 5 penalties over 3 matches.

Losing a game to a team with about 77 supporters (asked ane is the stewards)..

Re: Utd v Alloa ~ Sat 21/7/18 (3pm)

No easy to find any positives in that s.hite .............again.

First half we were ok. Barton looked no bad and brings a bit of height, possibly a good signing. Stanton was good, Keatings looked a bit better.

Second half, complete and utter s.hite only glimmer of hope was the young laddie Glass coming on. He will be good for us.

Pathetic again, Laszlo has to go.The Scottish League Cup, the trophy we have won twice, and this is what has been served up.  Phuking awful.

Re: Utd v Alloa ~ Sat 21/7/18 (3pm)

Couldna believe my eyes when around 57-58 mins when Alloa got 2 corners on the trot. During this time, Slabbers in front of the dugout, looking toward the bench combing his hair.

Alloa's first 'win' at Tannadice in SIXTY YEARS!!

Last success in Dundee v Utd was April 1958.

Shite result one way or the other anyway

Technically, it is a draw mate.

But i can't blame Alloa fans for claiming it as a 'win'  under the circumstances.

Sad that.

Feel for the young supporters, i really do.

At least we all knew what it was like to support United back when they were great.

I cannae even get my young lad (9) to watch them with me if they're on the telly. And i can't blame him.

We are truly awful.

Don't have any actual details but my guess is that Jerry Kerr was Alloa's manager and Denis Gillespie and John White were probably playing for them then.

Not there to day but stats say we had 20 shots of which 8 on target. Given we struggle normally to have 8 shots with 2 or 3 on target, the stats suggest we were more attacking and less sideways and backwards  than we normally are, however the updates from fans don't bear this out. Can anybody say whether we were more attack minded today or alternatively give a reason for the supposedly better stats

Bring back the (real) "United Way" not the kiddy-on Martin version

I could not make today's game so kept an eye on the BBC stats from the game and United updates on Twitter and my thoughts was from what I could make of the information was that United was comfortable and having a lot of chances and possession.

I am always wary about using such information as it can clearly be altered to show how people want it to be seen, particularly updates and I usually try to find various sources you match reports to see if the information matches what happened.  This is for games that I cannot attend such as today.

It seems the stats are misleading as reading what is being said about the game it does not sound anywhere near as comfortable as BBC match stats suggest in particular.
