Re: Utd v Alloa ~ Sat 21/7/18 (3pm)

One of the giant goalies
Wardrop Frans Murdoch Robson
Nobody
Smith Keatings Curran Clark Appere Chalmers

4-0-6 formation
So 6 'uptop'.
Apart from one of the giant goalies nobody back defending corners, 10 'uptop' for the counter attack.

Re: Utd v Alloa ~ Sat 21/7/18 (3pm)

Keeper
Wardrop. Allardice. Frans.  Booth
McMullan. Stanton. Glass.  Aird
                  Curran.    Clark

Keeper, Robson, Edge, Barton, Smith, Chalmers, Murdoch

It’s Alloa at home, there is no need for dedicated defensive midfielders, get 2 boys in there who can get up and down and create.

Our squad is so far short btw, that bench is stinking.

Not sure of the team to be honest, but I fear players who haven't had game time so far will be played e.g. Scobbie and Edge, Curran

Curran definitely needs game time with 1st team.

The other 2 can get game time with the reserves.

We'll never see it in a million years from him but a 4-3-3 for me:

Keeper
Wardrop - Frans - Allardice or Watson - Booth
Barton with Glass and Stanton in front
Smith - Clark - Aird

That would be a massive step forward for me. With 3 forwards there would be players for midfielders and defenders to pass to:try to find instead of passing the ball aimlessly sideways and backwards and who there might be a greater chance of scoring a goal/winning/being entertained

Bring back the (real) "United Way" not the kiddy-on Martin version

Curran and King both out again according to the Tully. Curran might start training next week.

Or the next week, or the next month, who knows???

Too much commotion

The Injuries are starting to pile up again, barely kicked a ball in anger.  Have i missed something? ..... Is Tannadice still the home of Dundee United FC or is it now a feckin' BUPPA mega centre.

Adam Barton confirming in his interview that his Manager has told his players he regards tomorrow as another 'pre-season match'.

What a fucking joke. Loser mentality.

Trying to cover his arse.

Why do you think the League Cup is a joke?

Why do you believe that fans paying money to go these competitive matches deserve to be treated with such contempt from the club?

Why are United supporters so accepting of this terrible attitude our manager has?

Treating the first 4 competitive matches as pre-season gives him the opportunity to use the first 4/6 league games to decide on his first 11 and then give them time to gel.  We’ll be 7th by then and we’ll deserve it.

I find the fans general acceptance of this stance ridiculous.  That’s the absolute worst thing about it.

A depressing post that just about sums up what we have become. Didn’t see anyone thinking it was Mickey Mouse when we best Aberdeen at Hampden a few days before we sold our soul.

Re: Utd v Alloa ~ Sat 21/7/18 (3pm)

Unfortunately I can not make this game today so will be hoping for a win today which should be happening at home to Alloa, I will go with a 2-0 United win (Clark x2).

The only consolation is sport on tv all day predominantly the Open at Carnoustie, although Raith Rovers v Hearts will go on in the afternoon and then the golf back on afterwards.
