They'll be paying silly money down there. He'll be on what... £3/4k a week at Aberdeen at the moment?

4k a week at salford.
Sad tines when the 5th level of English football can pay more than the majority in Scottish football.
Graham Alexander (ex Scotland, PNE) is the manager down there.
Don't know if they will be another Boston united or any of the ither English teams who have paid big bucks for a while

Owned by a billionaire and giggs, butt, scholes and the neville brothers. Theyve got loads of money.

Will someone please come up with a decent transfer rumour !!!! We're at least 3 quality signings from getting out of this hammer-throwing, piss-poor referee'd league. Someone...give us some hope.....someone....

All went very quiet on the signing front! Our squad is threadbare as it stands, even more so if the rumours regarding Keatings and McMullan are to be believed!

Paul Watson, ex-Falkirk ch rumoured to be signing according to The S*n. Decidedly underwhelmed. He wasn't even a regular there.
I get the distinct impression that no-one wants to sign for us.

We’d be as well going part time if this is the level of player we’re going after. Either that or just call it a day altogether. How far we’ve fallen.
An absolute fucking disgrace.

I think the 25 mile radius rule is biting us on the backside.
I agree with the reasoning for it, but unfortunately we are not a big enough draw at the moment to be able to make that demand to decent quality players and because some have possibly already bought in to relocating, we can't change that rule otherwise there would be a riot in the changing room..

Are we still paying Luggy? Shite as a manager at united and now pretty inept as chief scout or whatever his title is.

WTAF ??? Paul who?
Released by Falkirk in the summer.
Underwhelmed doesn't come close

Jesus!!!, Paul (canna even get a ghem for the bairns) Wilson, is that our ambition? It really is becoming a pride swallowing chore supporting United these days. ..... but I will, ....... the manager and board however, not so much. Admittedly getting over the damage caused by the Thompson era will not happen overnight, I did and am expecting a better fist of getting out this league than this. Just can't drum up any enthusiasm for the season ahead.

Condemned before he starts.
a reality check is required here.
We are probably offering wages comparable with the 6/7 tier on England.
If this time last year we signed Craig Halkett im sure the social media experts would have slated him. If Watson signs he may turn out to be another Scobbie but I will judge him on what he does in tangerine.
If Paul Watson signs he'll be our 11th new player.
So here's the NEW SIGNINGS XI...
SIEGRIST
WARDROP/FRANS/WATSON/BOOTH
BARTON/RABITSCH/AIRD/RAKOVAN
CLARK/CURRAN
Apologies to RAKOVAN, have had to squeeze him in at left mid.

I'm sure everyone hopes he does well but let's be honest - Paul Hartley didn't rate him so I think the general underwhelment is justified.

Hartley swapped Boyle for Alex Harris, let Lee Miller go the list could go on.
If he signs nobody will be expecting miracles but some of the comments on here are ridiculous

Fairly underwhelming if true. But simply because he left Falkirk doesn't mean Hartley has suddenly become a fine judge of players. Watson is out of contract, and if he signs he may be a revelation.
Hartley let Lee Miller go in January, and he seemed to do ok thereafter.
Edit- snap, Beharder.

It's certainty not rubbishing the boy before he signs, I hope he does well. However, I get the impression that Watson was near the bottom of a list of ch's all of whom have turned us down because a. Word has got around that players hate Laszlo and its a toxic atmosphere already b. They can see he's hopless c. 25 mile rule d. Everyone hates Utd apparently.
Anyone who thinks Watson (or any of the players we've signed all of whom were free agents) was watched several times by scouts, coaches and finally, Luggy and Laszlo, sat down for discussions, with extensive checks into his background, family and fitness record is living in cloud cuckoo land.
He, like everyone else was plucked off a list of released players. Personally, I like the idea of signing boys from lower leagues like we did in the past with Conway, Gomis, Swanson, Douglas, GMS and Robertson. These boys were extensively watched before they were signed though to ensure they were the right fit. It appears that because Spittal and Connolly didn't work out from this route that we have given up on it, or we just can't be arsed putting in the work this type of scouting requires. I had hoped that the changes made by MM would see this style of recruitment return this season along with similar scouting in England and Ireland but it appears little has changed from the shut-your-eyes and see what name your pen hits recruitment of the last few years.

Indeed, underwhelmed.
If we can find decent keepers in European market (jury out I know), then why can't we get a decent CH as we have done before? Avoids lifesanocean a-d issues.
Think this Watson boy will be signed for cover. Expect that we are in the loop for some loan signings (despite previous comments otherwise) and they'll be later in the window.

The problem with loan signings, if (and it's not that big an 'if') other managers find Csaba a laughing stock, why would they trust the club with their players on loan?
And players speak to each other throughout the clubs: will some be willing to come and potentially waste their time at Tannadice under the present regime.
It's difficult for me to think this of Csaba, as I don't like to write folk off, and in the past have never sided with contributors who heavily criticise players. But Csaba has shown absolutely no redeeming features as far as management is concerned, and I'm stunned that any supporter should be sticking up for him through anything other than blind loyalty to the club.
There's one powerful word you didn't mention lifesanocean & that's AGENT.
There will be frenetic activity going on right now.
They're are dozens of them out there & Laszlo's phone will be going mental.
So it's an employer's market towards the end of the window which should aid the quality of our signings.
