Edmund used to have a newspaper clip of his auld boy, who lived on Sandeman Street, when he was a bairn. He had an uninterrputed view of Tannadice before they put the roof on the Seggy.

True story -its still someplace, its from the Courier in 1959-he was 6.

Re: Old Scottish Fitba pics

Just spend 10 minutes looking at the corner flag picture reliving my first game 1976 I think it was 5-0 against Ayr. I spent an amazing 5years with my grandad watching the black and whites as he called them from the corner.

Re: Old Scottish Fitba pics

It was the first season of the old premier league, too young to grasp the importance of it all . I now appreciate why my grandad got so excited about a 0:0 draw at ibrox

When you see that crowd outside I think thats when you realise we shouldn't moan too much about a queue. We have it a lot better!

I had a wee walk round Cathkin Park recently LAO (another ground ticked aff the list).

Couldnae fucking believe just how big the pitch was. It's HUGE.

Was back at Cathkin Park last week with a far better looking wee chap than myself (my Son).

The work that has been carried out by benevolant volunteers in the 4 years since i've been there is just terrific.

So much of the old terraces have been weeded and de-mossed. Parts of the crumbling terrace have slowly been rebuilt and gravel put down where there was only a quagmire of mud.

Re: Old Scottish Fitba pics

Part of me thinks it is great what they are doing to Cathkin Park, the other part thinks it should be left to ruin - something quite romantic about seeing it being left to the elements.

Ach the vast majority of it still very much is mate.

Tbh i can't see how they could do much more with the ground. Most of it is under a mini forrest and the terracing is all crumbling etc.
