Re: Scotland v Ireland

Going for a Scotland win.

Russell called up to squad - pleased to see it, he deserves a chance.

Re: Scotland v Ireland

Score draw.

Delighted Russell has got a chance.Though i doubt he'll see any action against Eire or England.

Would imagine Jordan Rhodes must have gave up on his International career now.

Re: Scotland v Ireland

Probably get a chance under the next manager mate, Scotland bosses have quite a bit of previous for leaving out the obvious in our minds

Hear their shout, hear their roar
They've probably had a barrel of ale and much, much more
Hooray, hooray, hooray, yeah
Over the hill went the swords of a thousand men

Re: Scotland v Ireland

Tough one on Friday.  I still think Ireland are slightly better than us and have always managed to nick victories against us in the few times we have played in the last 15 years or so.  Only concrete prediction is that I'll be drunk by about 9pm.

Re: Scotland v Ireland

It's has became very much a must win game now, so for that reason I can see us loosing it in the last 20 minutes.

Really depends how the games pan out, but can see JR getting a wee 10 minutes in the england game.

Re: Scotland v Ireland

Really hoping wee stuff this lot.

The Irish have had far to much to say for themselves before this.

Re: Scotland v Ireland

Gotta say for once i agree with Graeme Souness's comments.

Steven Fletcher has 1 Scotland goal in 17 appearances. Not good enough and more should be expected of him.

Anya has scored 3 or 4 already and has played what 8 games? All fae the wing.

Re: Scotland v Ireland

McCarthy has been ruled unfit and sent back to everton.

Och well just Mcgeady getting it tight then.

Re: Scotland v Ireland

Good news but not surprising. McCarthy has missed more ROI games than he has played. Good player but he clearly has 'issues'. Remember rumours that he regretted his choice to turn down Scotland. Tough luck for him, wee shite-the-bed.

Re: Scotland v Ireland

Really don't want to give a fuck about North Britain football team but have to admit I'm really looking forward to this.

Always hated ROI national team and even more so Martin O'Neill.

I think Scotland will win this, 2-1.

Re: Scotland v Ireland

ROI are the jammiest country/team going. Always have been.

On paper I think we are stronger these days, but their jammy card worries me.

Re: Scotland v Ireland

Lewis Macleod sent back tae the Zombies so he can play for them against the mighty Alloa tomorrow.

At every turn they are afforded favours every other club isn't.

If he got picked in the Scotland squad he should be made to STAY with the Scotland squad.

Makes a mockery of selecting him.

Thats a fucking joke.  Why pick him then?  Friendlies are for having a look at players.  Competitive games are for picking the best 23 players available each of whom should be ready if selected.

Re: Scotland v Ireland

A great game to watch last night and a superb win in a game we'd have lost under Burley and Levein.

Thought Ireland were nothing more than a long-ball outfit with hammerthowers all over the park. Football from the dark ages.

Am I the only one who thought Andy Robbo did not have his best game last night??  First half more than the second half, mind you.  Thought he was panicky in possession and kept passing the buck, especially the moment when Hanley got caught out. Attacking wise he got up and down well but could have offered a bit more in terms of his final pass or cross. He did keep McGeady on the back foot and defended well though so I suppose it was job done.  I think knowing what he is capable of means I am quite hard on him even now.
