Can’t speak for McKinnon but 100% Jackie signed Mario Bilate without a medical, we were on preseason in Holland and signed him there but both club doctors were still in Scotland

Was just away to put this on here, absolutely incredible! There’s does now seem to be a bit organisation this season. I’m gonna give csaba my backing surely can’t be a bad manager over night, praying this is the of a turn in our fortunes, all I ask from the team this season is good attacking football and promoting, simple as that!

I've droned on about signing players with injury records, but I think it's wrong of Csaba to, in essence, criticise another manager, which is what he is doing, given his own failings last season.
It's time to move on, as there is nothing we can do about what has gone before, yet I think Csaba might feel badly slighted if Raymond was quoted in the paper pointing out that the present Dundee United manager made an arse of the substitutions in the home play-off match v Livingston, as an example: and there are several criticisms that could be levelled at Csaba from last season.
So, to me, that article doesn't reflect well on anyone, past or present, to do with the club.

I don’t think he’s criticising Ray, so much as he’s criticising the whole culture of the club. Chief amongst those deserving of criticism, is our former chairman, Mr. A. He allowed a culture of unprofessionalism to infect our club, after numerous empty promises stating he was conducting root and branch reviews of the club. But I’d also say that people like Ray and Jackie McNamara and Darren Taylor merit their share of the blame, as they done absolutely nothing to arrest the rot that was setting in within our club, and in many ways enhanced it’s growth.

Bet Toshney never done a medical when McKinnon signed him from Raith.

Absolutely no chance

Pretty sure you can't sign anybody without a medical because of insurance purposes so I'm not sure what Csaba says is entirely accurate. Players being signed without a particularly RIGOUROUS medical, however I can 100% believe.

Might have been of significance had he acknowledged his own pathetic contribution and that he himself needs to greatly improve. His job last season was to get us up and we went from 1st to nearly out of the play offs thanks to his ineptitude.

If and when Toshney leaves, I’ll give it 4 weeks until he rips into the club via the papers.

If and when this does happen whatever he does say will it be untrue?
Probably not

And do you think anyone will give a shit what he says?

McKinnon’s fucking at it with this nonsense. Toshney, Scobbie, Briels, Keatings, Stanton, Quinn & Murdoch all had known physical issues when they were signed by McKinnon, and it’s proven to be the case as almost every one of them, to a man have spent hugely significant portions of their United careers on the treatment table.
That’s not to mention Raymond consistently bringing players back from injury far too quickly, which only further exacerbated their problems in the long run, as seen with guys like Scott Fraser and James Keatings.
McKinnon’s a junior level manager with a junior level mentality. That he ever worked his way up to a club of our stature is a sad indictment of how far our standards have fallen.

Csaba should have kept his mouth shut on this.
Raymond has, in his statement, exonerated himself and shifted the blame to United's medical staff.
It's a needless discussion and diversion when we are being encouraged to look forward to a new culture.

Agreed. He didn't really need to make any comment. He could have got to the same point by just saying he needed a clean out and his own players in. No-one was of the view that the players were desperately worth keeping and all he has now done is alienate our medical team (for whom the fans already question)and give an opposition manager an incentive to beat us. Did he think Ray was going to let it pass? He had to respond for his own integrity.
Much for Lazlo and Martin, time is coming for judgement of actions and not words.

You’d think the medical/physio department would be one of the first things to be addressed with the ‘root and branch review’. For how many years have we been told Player X is gonna be out for 3-4 weeks, and we don’t end up seeing him back for about 9 months.
Thon Jeff Clarke must have pictures of Baldy and Mike Martin playing hide the sausage with each other or something.

I know for a 100% fact that McKinnon rushed Toshney back for the Caley game. (Rays last stand)
“I’m not ready yet”
“I need you back”
Horses mouth.
Then Toshney had to wait months for his operation on the NHS cause he (likely most of the players) had no private health cover.

Laszlo’s trying to fight his corner here (he has a share of the blame too, don’t get me wrong)
McKinnon is in the process of rebuilding a reputation. Fair enough.

Agree with you JD (apart from the bit about Jeff Clarke, I've no way of knowing).
A big concern, for me, is the two year contract given to Fraser Fyvie, in the hope he'll be on the field by the end of September and back to form soon after. By the end of September almost 20% of our league games will have been played in any case. Somebody must have come up with the 'end of September' and you'd hope it would be a dependable medical person who is trusted by the club.
I use Fyvie as an example, but there will be others this season who may suffer from the curse of our medical advisers.
It's not a jinx.
