If you can overlook the scandalous mismanagement of the Scottish game that this is, then if us potentially playing Sutton leads to Sevco and Victim FC moving to England I’m all for it. Sooner the better.

If that is the outcome TheShed I'm happy but that seems too good to be true.
If they will de value Scottish competitons to aid the rangers and celtic there will be no end to what they will do for that and money.
Oor eventual hope and dream is very unlikely to be overseen by those who run our game.

Most Sutton fans are looking forward to this. However I can't see how any clubs would make any money if the faced us. The traveling costs would not be covered by the gate receipts.
The responses on here are no disrespect to teams like Sutton Utd or the other Non-Scots teams. An away day down in London would be an enjoyable day on the piss.
All the comments here are more aimed at the SPFL and their crusade to do whatever they can to...
1)Introduce Celtic and Ranger's 'Colt sides' into the Scottish League 2
and
2)Their undermining of ALL lower league Scottish sides.
If Sutton (and the other non-Scots) sides were even introduced in the 1st Round i personally wouldn't have as much of a problem with their involvement.
Dundee United won this trophy just over a year ago. But when re-entered into it on the following season were thrown into it ahead of teams like Crusaders and Linfield.
How can that be fair/right?

The aim is to have a 'Celtic' and a 'Rangers' remaining in Scotland if the big versions of these abominations get to play in a different system.
Think: there's no complimentary invite for Scottish sides to play in the Buildbase FA Vase, the BetMcClean Irish League Cup or the Nathaniel Welsh Premier Cup.

Spot on Pat - I'd be more than willing to see the Glasgow team move south of the border but only with a clean break - no colts or reserve team playing in our leagues, no feeder club arrangements, no entry into any of the cup competitions, no representation in Euro comps - just go and take your chances in whatever league you end up in and take all the fat cat hangers on with you. No doubt we will be a lot poorer to start off with but it could well be worth it to establish some proper competition for the other 40 clubs

If the SFA will fuck us over to loose their biggest income stream as they see it do you honestly see that as the end of fucking us over?

The rules of the comp allow some travel costs to be compensated Amber.
I bet there's some good pubs in Sutton?
Cheers
As for pubs, maybe too many!

Could it be the SFA are leading, not following? I see y'day's announcement about an EPL winter shut-down Feb 2020.
The current SPFL model is broken, change is inevitable.
Sellic, you can't live with them, you can't live without them.
The structure will be much different within 3-5 years and some people are reacting now.
Conspiracy theorists take a bow to innovation.

smedDUm: do you honestly believe that the Scottish football authorities have suddenly developed a concern for the clubs other than the Glasgow twins after all these years? If so, you are very gullible.
And in what way are the SFA leading? They are not the architects of this particular absurdity.

Sorry Pat you're right, it's a SPFL-run competition.
On that issue maybe them & the SFA merging would be better. They're almost at odds with each other at times, competition rather than allies. But nothing's perfect, look at FIFA, they're more corrupt than Boris Johnson & the USA presidency combined. They're all tarnished but we are powerless to do anything.
Anyway the SPFL & the SFA get slammed for everything they do. There are still people who condemn the Prem league split ffs.

I know Pat, that is exactly the plan and it’s only worsened by the fact that every other Scottish club will allow it to happen.

The Scottish football authorities mustn't be blamed for being more go-ahead than their English, Welsh & Oirish counterparts

Of course, you are 'at it' now. But I'll indulge your daftness.
This is how 'go ahead' the Scottish football authorities are: they forgot that colt sides don't exist anymore when they drew up the format for the 2018-19 Irn Bru Cup. Now they are having to re-write their rules, and it will not be 12 colt sides enhanced by three over 20 players, it will have to be the reserve teams which take part.
Here's the relevant (or more correctly irrelevant) section which has had to be taken off the SPFL site:

What a shambles.
Celtic Reserves could and should romp that Cup.

It’s ok tho because Smeddum thinks it’s revolutionary.
