Robson was a player who completely lost his confidence. Started this season poorly faded in the winter months and the less said about the end of the season the better. Hes gone from thinking a premiership club were interested to lucky to get a deal in the Scottish championship. He needs to go away get his head straight put on a stone of muscle and prepare for next seasons battle.

Oh wow... I mean... WTF??

He is the worst full back I’ve ever seen, I’m honestly in disbelief he’s got a two year fucking contract. I’m fuming

Phuckin unreal, he was one player I was sorely looking to see the back of. The wee popstar has absolutely no outstanding attributes as a footballer, not one.
Twa crocks and a wee shitebag who has no business being on a football pitch. Next season’s shaping up to be a fucking hoot.
Honestly I thought he started the season well - he'd bulked up during close season and looked a lot less one-footed than he had season past.
Did go to fuck mid way through the season right enough but was not exactly on his own in that.

Absolutely clutching at straws here.
He looked like a player when he first broke into the side.
Since he was 'linked' with Southampton it went all to fuck.
Hopefully the fact the move hasn't materialised will be sobering for him and he will buckle down and realise the opportunity he has.

Don’t think he’s ever looked a player tbh, he’s a fucking pap, canna cross the ball, slow is death! Unbelievable decision to give him a 2 year deal

He might well get sent out on loan.
I doubt it, but who knows...

I'm not as put out by this as the rest of the support, although a wee bit surprised that the lad has been given a two year deal.
Firstly, I don't think he's anywhere as poor as some would have us believe, although we're all entitled to our opinions. Secondly, he was, in my view, one of our better performers before the venom incident, and I recall St Mirren fans picking him out as our best performer in the first defeat down there early in the season.
Thirdly, I reckon he was maybe leaving for another club in the transfer window, but his stupidity behind the wheel fucked that up: Brandon Mason was brought in to replace him, and had trained with United, I think, for a few weeks before the window opened.
Finally, he was playing in front of a shaky keeper and with an ever changing and anxious defence for most of the second half of the season: and normally Billy King was in front of him as a nervous and indirect option down the left.
Hope he settles and is given the chance to get better form: it's galling that he took more abuse last season from the support than Csaba!

Cant understand this why a 2 year deal,i can only assume its because he is getting sold hopefully.
we are making no good moves,is it too early or our new level?

Your main job as a full back is to stop crosses, he doesn't do this. By not stopping crosses it puts the central defence and the keeper under pressure.

Not surprised that he got a contract given United’s chaotic leadership. Hasn’t done anything other than be under 23 to deserve a contract. He’s got one now so both Robson and the coaching staff will need to put in a power of work to justify it and that should include coming back in the afternoons to work on his crossing, to get stronger, etc. Hope it’s not another waste of a wage as we cannot afford any more non contributors.

Pat very good point there. Having Billy King in front of you when your struggling and looking for a bit of help is the worst possible scenario.
Csaba should have pulled him out of the firing line much quicker. There was no histrionics or hyperbole when Allardice got a new contract
Imo Robson has more going for him than Allardice

Nothing against the boy but wow, shocked to see he has been offered a new deal. Easily our worst 1st choice left back in a number of years. But I guess in our current situation, far from surprising. His 'defending' for Livi's 2nd goal in the play-offs was fucking awful as was his performances in the majority of games this year where the tough got going. Obviously now he is signed I wish him all the best and will support him BUT if we dont sign another LB to push him (and not just rely on Scobbie) then it will be a BIG mistake.

Worse than Scobbie and Murdoch? (I know they we'rent constant first choices, but they were chosen LB for the first team).
We've had a number of decent left backs over recent years who have been rubbished by a number of fans, Douglas obviously, and Danny Grainger too as examples. Yet going back a wee while, Hasney Aljofree seemed to get no flack from the support, and I thought he was very poor. Maybe I'm a poor judge.
I'm surprised Jamie Robson has been given a two year deal, but he's been playing with very poor team mates in an inconsistent side, and I still see a player in there.

Hope you're right mate.

The only positive thing I can think of is that did Barry Douglas no get similar stick years ago? And look at him now. Hopefully the boy's had a wake up call and knuckles down and has the pre season of his life. Hopefully his "daft boy" syndrome gets kicked to the side. It amazes me to see young lads throwing away their chance because of fuckwittery---just a quick look at Andy Robertson should be enough to show what hard as fuck work will get you.

I always thought Barry Douglas had potential tbh. He had an absolute wand of a left foot and got forward often.
But i take your point. Douglas was often poor positionaly and defensively and has obviously worked very very hard to improve this aspect of his game given the teams he's played for since and his success at each club.
Desire and belief is everything. It beats raw talent alone imo.
There's hope for young Robson yet. But this has to be his season next season. It'll be his 3rd in the Championship. If he has something about him he needs to show it for us.

Agreed, Rocky Balboa before training for Robson!! Lol

We are in for Shaun Byrne, Livingston (The Sun)
Apparently Falkirk are too, and a couple of clubs down south. A handy player, IMO.

One of the lowest scoring teams in the league last year and we are linked with a striker with 23 goals in 107 games for County! 🙄 That’s United all over!!
