Brandon Mason

Must be some bad if he can’t get in the team ahead of Robson.

What an absolute waste of a jersey that boy is, how he’s hung about the first team for the past 3 seasons is fucking beyond me. Never has a player as piss poor as he is, had such an extended run in the first team.

The boy has zero redeemable qualities as a footballer. Not One. Poor defensively, weak as piss, never blocks the cross, is constantly targeted by the opposition as the weak link of a weak team, takes zero responsibility going forward, always makes the wrong run off of King, no pace, can’t cross a ball, plays sideways or backwards passes whenever we’re making a an attacking move. Need I go on?

I was infuriated watching him last night, as I am every time I watch him. The boy is the absolute dictionary definition of a passenger. He’s an absolute stick-on to be playing for Arbroath/Brechin/Forfar/Montrose or worse within 3 years. Total waste of a jersey.

Re: Brandon Mason

Should have played the boy Mason against Livi to give him one last chance (or a second chance) to show he has something. But our moron of a Manager rejected the chance to do this of course.

As for him being much worse than Robson, i wouldn't necessarily count on it.

Sure he had a disastrous debut (the whole team were diabolical that day though) but it isn't so long ago people were saying much the same thing about Deniz Mehmet i.e. 'he must be really bad if he can't get a game ahead of Lewis' etc etc.

Boys came in and by and large been a very steady Keeper.

I simply don't trust Csaba's judgement on anything including players potential/best position/s etc.

P.s. on Robson. I thought when he first broke into the side he had potential to be a good player but his development hasn't just stalled, he's infact went backwards.

Now that could either be poor coaching, poor attitude from himself to improve his game or just a complete crisis in confidence of his own abilities. Maybe a mix of all.

László couldn't instill confidence in anyone. So he will continue to be poor as long as he is here sadly.

Re: Brandon Mason

The boy’s a shite footballer TEK, simple as that for me.

Name one outstanding quality he has or has ever had.

You’re right on Mason though, Saturday was the time to throw him in and see if he’s up to it. If Emil fucking Lyng’s still getting chances in the first team, surely Mason can be forgiven for his part in one abject team performance.

There's certainly not been many to pin-point over the past...oh year or something eh?

When he first broke into the team i thought it looked like he had a decent amount of energy for getting forward (seems to have deserted him). I also felt when he was shunted more centrally in defence his positioning and heading ability was quite good for one so young. Again though there has been no real evidence of this since unfortunately.

He's out of contract isn't he?

Re: Brandon Mason

At a guess, Mason was brought in for Robson to depart in January, only for the Venom video to appear.

He's only had the game time Bowers mentions, Falkirk and Alloa. Yet he's played against Kane, Deli Alli etc v Spurs, David Silva, Aguero and Gabriel Jesus against Man City, but not rated by Csaba.

Re: Brandon Mason

Both Jim Duffy and Gary Naismith on Radio Scotland last night both said that UTD had a few players who went into hiding when then game gets tough. Mine and I'm sure many other arabs immediately thought of Robson. Murdoch should be used at left back with Durnan or even the edge playing CH.
There is no place for spineless footballers in the 1st division.

Re: Brandon Mason

Brandon was like a wee lost laddie in that Falkirk game, like a rabbit in the headlights.  Big difference to playing in academy games to playing at the Falkirk stadium on a freezing cauld day.   Still think he deserved more of a chance to prove himself though.
