Been at a football tournament with my wee Lads club today.

How did we play today?

Reading the bbc match stats and it seems Slater was involved quite a lot?

I thought we were poor.

Was speaking to a livi fan 5 minutes ago. He said we'll beat Dunfermline (i agree) we'll win at tannadice (agree again) but theyll beat us at the tony macaroni

How did Slater play?

He started off terribly. He got the ball early on with a chance to break and looked like a scared wee laddie. Got outmuscled a few times as well.

He grew into it though. Although admittedly my young lad had enough by the hour mark so that's a bit of a partial viewpoint!

I thought we looked comfortably better than them when it was a game of football. When it became a battle though, they had the better of us all over the park.

Slater was like a fish out of water wide right, but took his goal well. Can't see him having a future at Tannadice.

A better second half overall by the team, after frustrating in the first half King looked a good bit more capable in the second. Livi are very poor on the ground, and that's the way to beat them.

I dont think ive ever seen a team launch as many high balls into our box .
Contain them on the air amd they are there for the taking.
Their No. 4 long throw man was stinking with the ball at his feet.
50/50 if we play them again we prevail

Re: DUFC v Livi - Saturday 28th April (3pm)

Most of the 1st half, don't think a sedative woulda done a better job of puting folk to sleep. TBF we did have a good attempt from Mosher that went wide, and Fraser had an attempt that was cleared off the line. Even Gillespie had a shot go wide, but that and a 2nd half clearance from the 18 yard line were IMO his only real contributions to the game. Livi had a couple or headers off the bar in 2 mins and there was an overhead kick which made abody hold their breath for a second. There was universal applause for the laddie Liam Colgan in the 29th minute when his picture appeared on the screen. Well done to any of the guys on here that had anything to do with the arrangements.

2nd half was better.
1st goal was cross from the left by-line by King who'd got doon the left flank. Didnt think anybody was gonna get on it, but Slater was already running toward goal from the right and booted it straight into the roof of the net for a peach of goal. Tho I agree with a couple of folk about Slater, he was a bit out of it most of his time on the field.

2nd goal was similar in that King puting the cross in. Everybody in front of me stood up so I barely saw Skippy head it in for the goal.

MOTM for me probly King, not just for his contribution for the goals, with Mosher close 2nd - laughed like phuck when he lobbed the Coke bottle back at the Livi fans, and gave them the finger. If only we had 10 players like him.

Ref totally US. Allowed too many fouls against us to go unchecked including extremely  bad ones on Stanton and Ralston.

After we went ahead, I was beginning to hope for a repeat of the night at Glebe Park. Reckon we musta had about 6 on target. How do I feel about the result. Yeah great, but in the end, it feels like it was 2 Nil too late, from the Seasons perspective anyway.

Whole atmosphere was deflated I thought. Cant recall us singing once the whole game.

Re: DUFC v Livi - Saturday 28th April (3pm)

Overall thought we were poor today however a win and a clean sheet against the team that finished above us ( minter )

First half was awful. Bit better in the second. Very good move for the first goal and Slater took it well. Thought he was poor though and not seeing enough to keep him here. Fraser was best for us I though, but King also no bad. Bit concerned about lack of concentration / mistakes fae Big Mosh today but again he did much that was good.

Need to raise our game in these playoffs big time.
