Re: New Owners ? - American Consortium

If they are waiting on due diligence then it can't be all ready to go.

I mean from their end. Everything has been done apart from the due diligence coming through, that's what is holding the take over up.

Is there any word on who the consortium are?  Is Borthwick one of the potential buyers or is he just brokering the deal?

Re: New Owners ? - American Consortium

If the very public Newcastle United ‘takeover’ bid has taught us anything, it’s that these things can take months & sometimes come to nothing.

Patience required here. Although, we are short on that I understand.

'Due diligence' in a business sense is carried out by the prospective buyer anyway, I would have thought. And it can take some time. 'Due diligence' doesn't 'come through', it's a series of processes.

As I've said before, hoping this is real and not a bullshit attempt to get fans to buy season tickets, with reservations of course.

Due diligence process would be conducted by the football governing bodies. This came into place after the mad vlad era etc. This will take a few weeks yet, as I said this was all meant to be done and dusted by the weekend just past there but this part of the take over process is taking a bit longer than it should.

Fair enough Arab87. When you wrote ............

I assumed you meant the buyers.

But you've clarified by saying .........

So the SFA are deciding if the buyer(s) is/are 'fit and proper'?

That should be a doddle, since they've let a bloke with 42 criminal convictions masquerade as the chairman of Sevco (even although he isn't).

Re: New Owners ? - American Consortium

arab87... you seem to be very much ITK on this take over.

Ive heard from different people now that Alistair Borthwick is leading this take over...

and then at the weekend I was told he was not involved in any capacity.

can you confirm either way...

Re: New Owners ? - American Consortium

Can't vouch for Arab87 per se but tbf to him he had been PM'ing me on here about these takeover rumours long before there was even a whiff of it in the papers or social media.

If it's happening it'll surely be announced by the seasons end? If it doesn't happen by then i'm not buying it.

We need our plans in place for next season asap. And that includes who will be Manager, Chairman etc etc.

Some rumours seem to indicate the chairman will be MM and the manager Csaba. If these are fabricated, the instigator of the rumours is going the wrong way about encouraging us to buy season tickets.

Yes, he seems to be, but is it all genuine?  As far as I can see he is an anonymous poster on a football forum, and that's all we know about him. His proclamations might carry more weight if other posters actually knew him and could vouch for him.

arab87, no malice intended. I just hope you see where I am coming from. So many rumours abound it's difficult to get to the facts. And I am sick fed up of these rumours, hints, innuendo, and fkn guessing games.

I understand the cynicism, the snake ST has told many a fib over the years. However I have been informed that this is happening and ST is gone from a very reliable source.

Re: New Owners ? - American Consortium

Could it be the sudden turn around in effort/results is tied into this happening?

Nope. this is happening, doesn't matter what league we're in next season.

I think Tangy means the other way round.

I think he's suggesting that the rumour that ST is on his way out has lifted spirits, the players/manager are happier and results and performances have improved as a result.
