Seen this old pic of Pittodrie today.
And i thought Parkhead's 'restricted view' was bad.

I'd like to think so,but probably not i fear.
I'm willing to wager Neil Ross's tractor parts shop is still doing a roaring trade though.

It's ridiculous how big Firhill was. I mean, who were they expecting?!

Funny how all the old weegie grounds were that oval shape

Indeed, Hampden Ibrox and Celtic Park were the same. I think that all of them were designed by Archibald Leitch who also did the original main stand at Ibrox which was then sold to the Fun. They all have that bowl shaped design with a main stand and terraced stand enclosure. Rugby Park was also similar. I was at the old Firhill for a few Junior Cup semis and finals at it was huge and had a cracking atmosphere with a big crowd in.

South Yorkshire Police are a bunch of cunts. A perfectly good ground changed due to incompetence and a massive Tory Police cover up

Quite forgot about Clydebank's wee offices built on to New Kilbowie and Airdrie's mad 'Diamonds' brutalist masterpiece half stand'.
Even Celtic's main Stand looks brooding and menacing there.
Hillsborough fucked everything.
I hate the modern Barr breeze blocks.
Give me a terracing and some 60's architect's mad harebrained design ANYDAY.

Our first Cup Final v Celtic in the Summer of '74.
The days just before segregation and replica strips became the rage.
Crowd looks suitably dark.

Brilliant photo. Looks like something out of Life on Mars.
There are some cracking videos on YouTube of old Scottish grounds. I'll have a look later.

Not a fan of modern grounds - Loathe going to the likes of Falkirk, Livingston, Airdrie etc.
Bit of football ground trivia - The RHS stand in the photograph of Douglas Park was designed by Archibald Leitch, but when Douglas Park closed in 1994 the stand on the LHS was dismantled and rebuilt at Beechwood Park, Home of Auchinlech Talbot (see below).

Worthwhile read, if interest in football ground (also mentions Hillsborough as the death knell for alot of grounds and grandstands designed by Archibald Leitch).
