Good result, what we needed, especially after the lay-off. Will be interested to find out how we performed.

Good for the young lad, will do wonders for his confidence that.

Re: Qots v DUFC - Tuesday 3th March 7.45pm

No long back home.

After a dubious opening 15 or 20 minutes (when the ball took a doing) that turned into a really enjoyable performance. The team looked really hungry tonight. EVERY one of them.

Formation early doors looked like a 4-1-3-2 to me with Quinn as the one holding midfielder. As the game wore on it seemed to be more of 4-2-3-1 with Willo tucking in beside him and Matty Smith playing just off big Tam.

Lewis - Didn't have a whole lot to do tonight. Had no chance for their strike (good strike) and dealt with everything else ok 6/10

Murdoch - Was solid enough. 6/10

Durnan - Was really solid tonight and won everything in the air. Very vocal too 7/10

Scobbie - Good solid display .Organised the defence well 6/10

Robson - Still a wee bit of a week link for me. Provides the team with energy but still 'backs off' a wee bit too much for me defensively. 5/10

Quinn - Surprised to see him starting let alone in midfield, But you know what? He played well tonight. Won a lot of tackles and tried to pass the ball out on the deck 7/10

Flood - Wee man was great tonight. Full of running and terrier like. 7/10

King - Had a good night and gave their side some problems with his movement. 6/10

Stanton - Good performance. Rarely gives the ball away 6/10

Smith - Terrific 1st goal. Good instinctive poachers goal for the 2nd and seemed to link well with Mikkelsen, Should have burst the net for his 21st birthday hat-trick near the end. But a good night for the wee man, nonetheless. Happy for him after being bombed out by McKinnon for so long. 8/10

Mikkelsen - The big man's best game by far from what I've seen of him in his 2nd spell. Held the ball up well all night and linked up very well with Smith. Good run+ finish for his goal. Put in a good shift tonight. 8/10

Subs -

McDonald - Didn't have quite the same impact as Mikkelsen did for me. Got booked for 'simulation'. Not sure it was a dive as he was one on one and only about 6 yards out after getting ahead of his man. Though a couple of fans round me were giving him a hard time cos they thought he did dive. My eyesight's not the best so i would need to see it back. though. 5/10

McMullan - Did really well when he came on. Full of energy and running. Great wee unselfish square ball to Smith for what should have been his hat-trick 6/10

Slater - Only came on at the death 1/10

First league win since January 2nd. Felt like a hungry and determined side tonight. Albeit Queens for me were poor (particularly after Dobbie went off injured). Though we were well worthy of our win in the 2nd half.

First time we have came back to win from going a goal behind in what seems forever.

4th spot at worst probably cemented now. Time to kick-on and try and get as many wins as we can under our belt and see where it takes us.

cheers for that update TEK.

Lets hope they can carry the good performance onto the game at home to Inverness on Saturday before we host QOTS at home on Tuesday.
2 must win games.

Most Welcome mate.

Inverness seemed to have hit a wee bad patch of form in the league. Really hope we can carry tonight's hunger onto Saturday and win well for the home crowd.

Carlisle Arab thought Dobbie going off injured in the first half was a turning point.
About time injuries helped us than hindered us.
No ill feeling towards Dobbie, hope he's back pronto, well next Wednesday anyway.
Maybe being full time at the football & running his garden centres is beginning to take its toll?

Re: Qots v DUFC - Tuesday 3th March 7.45pm

Great result last night, sounded like they played with a bit more dig, hopefully a turning point.

Always good to see a local laddie doing well, I hope Matty starts to grow in confidence now.

I don't know a lot, but I know what I like!

Re: Qots v DUFC - Tuesday 3th March 7.45pm

big T was the difference last night, having an out all rather than having to pass it a million times to get it to McDonald.

It's only one game mind you but his link up play was very good, here's hoping there's more to come.

Just seen your assessment Tek, good report.
I'm liking that effort & application seems to have been there.
Now if we can take that into our first home game for 7 weeks then we may be turning a corner.
Fans can make a difference too, 6,000 please.

Yeah that would help to erase the memory of the Morton game.

Rather he was back for Saturday to help beat St Mirren and then get himself injured again in the 90th minute.

Re: Qots v DUFC - Tuesday 3th March 7.45pm

Just watched the highlights

Disappointed with Scobie not closing down the Queens forward allowing him to get into the box where he did some damage - we've lost far too many goals from defenders not closing down properly. This could have been costly

Pleased to see a defender (Quinn) playing in front of the back 4 giving a degree of protection not usually provided by def mids.

I appreciate it was only 20 mins of highlights but didn't see any "go nowhere sideways/backwards stuff" and plenty "end-to-end or goal-to-goal stuff" - a very welcome change. Suspect Luggy may have given Csaba some useful pointers

Pleased also to see a threesome (Mikkelsen/Smith/King) up top with King and Mikkelsen working their socks off and Smith prepared to have a go (with spectacular results) rather then pass the buck as so often this season.

Lots to be pleased about. Lets hope that this is not a one-off/flash in the pan but rather a sign of things to come and lets hope defenders like Scobie get the message about closing down opponents bearing down on goal.  For me the performance (at least the wee bits I saw) was the most important thing and more so rather than the result - it suggested that if we make the play-offs, we would now have a chance if we play like this.
