Re: Scotland squad to play Eire/England

How can Jordan Rhodes not get a game for Scotland ?

102 apps for Blackburn = 57 goals

Better than a goal every two games.

Very impressive ratio for a Championship player.

Ross McCormack is also someone who gets overlooked unfairly IMO.

It is depressing.

But realistically who else would you have in the squad based here?

I cannae think of anyone tbh.

Lewis McLeod though?

Maybe for the U21's but full squad.Ridiculous.

I've alway though Rhodes looked sluggish. Not enough pace and mobile enough to play international futba. Russell surely worth a punt though. Scored again tonight and has pace

As mush as i like Johnny, his scoring rate doon there is not a patch on Rhodes's.

And Russell plays for a better team that create more chances imo.

Re: Scotland squad to play Eire/England

Scott Arfield also plays week in/week out for Burnley in the Premiership.Cannae get a look in.

Laddie playing for Sevco against the might of Cowdenbeath,Dumbarton and QoS every week jumps straight into squad though.

Weird inclusion.

Re: Scotland squad to play Eire/England

Macleod is a strange one.

Two Derby guy's in the squad, hopefully Russell isn't far away. Would love to see him playing for Scotland.

Re: Scotland squad to play Eire/England

Russell has been doing well playing wide for Derby but Strachan obviously doesn't see him as being able to track back enough at international level and he obviously doesn't see him as either a number 10 (not creative enough?) or a an out and out striker (he likes someone bigger or who can really bustle defenders).  McCormack is clearly out of favour for the same reasons.  Its a bit pish for him, he should deffo be in there and for me if Scotland were to switch to 4-4-2 there is nobody better at linking up with a big man and running in behind than Johann.

Craig Conway seems to be out of favour as well now despite him getting a regular game for Blackburn.

Bet you any money no-neck Forrest goes straight back into the squad as soon as he is fit though despite the fact that he is a) a one-trick pony b) only good once in a blue moon for Celtic c) a crock and d) never had a good game for Scotland.

Re: Scotland squad to play Eire/England

McLeod is in for the same reason as Gauldy was last time oot.

BUT..........

there are many more deserving cases of youngsters getting a fel for the big time.

Too many to mention!
