Protest?

I know Fans Utd received some criticism when they held their protest last year (mostly due to the timing of it).

But i think they would now have almost 100% backing if they held one on Tuesday or Friday.

Though what form should a protest even take? Thompson OUT? Seems a bit pointless as he is soon to be slipping away into the shadows.

Mike Martin OUT? Maybe more to the point.

I honestly don't know.

Is it even worth having protests now or has that ship now sailed?

Friday night - televised
Tennis balls, 90min chanting of Thompson get to fuck

Can’t believe how much my viewpoint has changed in a year and I doubt I’m the only one

Re: Protest?

Tuesday night’s pointless, it’s a nothing game in minus degree weather that no ones gonna turn up for, or pay any attention to.

Friday night, live on BT is the time to get the tennis balls, yellow scarves and banners out. Yes it’s a fucking minter, but we can’t keep sitting idly by as Thommar ltd. destroy our club. Next Friday may be the last chance we have in a long time to send a clear and decisive message on a nationally televised medium. All Thompson apologists just stay at home for this one.

I fucking hate that man for what he’s done to our club.

Re: Protest?

Pity too many fans slated a protest at the hibs game.

Re: Protest?

Ye'd have to think that if ST got wind of anything, he'd simply no turn up to the gehm. Ignorance is his way of dealing with Flak.

I still don't understand the timing of that protest or the refusal of those who organised it to understand why it wasn't supported.

This for me.

And to think that it was originally planned to be a 'Surprise' on the night...I think the fact it was leaked was probably a blessing in disguise for FU.

At the time, I was vocally supportive of action but not at that game on that night as a win than night would still have kept us in the race.

Friday v. St Mirren is a different kettle of fish however.  By the time we play them we will more than likely be 16-17pts behind them with 2 games in hand....and possibly 5th in the league if results go against us...that's the reality.

I am very open to giving my backing to any organised protest next Friday night.  A mass walk out is my weapon of choice but will be supportive of whatever the masses/supporters feds opt for.

So you just give up? Fuck that. I’ll gladly protest on Friday night by myself and If everyone  else In Tangerine boos me I’ll keep going.

Fuck Thompson and Martin.

Re: Protest?

What about someone from one of the fans groups, perhaps the Foundation, getting in touch with BT and trying to arrange an interview to be broadcast before the game to explain the scope of this bastard's actions and schemes with his puppeteer Martin, and demand that they cut all ties to the club.

They deserve to be publicly shamed in front of a national audience for what they've done to this club.

Re: Protest?

Sometimes BT are on air a good while before a live gehm, showing footage oe supporters in the street heading for the turnstiles we thir scarves an athin. That would be a good opportunity. However on Friday comin, the programme's comin on at 19.30, but kick-affs at 19.45, so looks like there's just gonna be the usual 15 min bletherin aboot the table and other shite.

That's a great idea.

Though the FU representative would have to be heavily scripted and prepared beforehand. Because they wouldn't have long to get their point across succinctly.

And let's be honest, there's a lot to say.

Re: Protest?

The board needs to know now that many fans won't be renewing, but they'd have to be a bit thick not to realise this.

I'm not sure whether they don't care, or don't actually realise what an arse they are making of the club.

Re: Protest?

Personally would rather everyone stayed out of the ground and made plenty noise outside the ground. Thompson out, Martin out, sack the board etc.  They need to realise there’s no more money coming from the support.  Start Tuesday, same Friday and every home game till they’re gone.

Re: Protest?

We need to to something, that's for sure. I'd vote for something in the ground on Friday as being on TV means maximum exposure.

Re: Protest?

Heavy snow forecast in Dundee on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Knowing the way things have been going both midweek games will be called off.

Re: Protest?

Suspect many will protest by simply not going - shit weather will compound this however ST will give not a fuck as most are season ticket holders.

No harm in protesting but the only thing that'll really get his attention is not renewing season tickets, not buying merchandise etc

Fear of liquidation will bring him to the table - risky, obviously, but hard to see any alternative.

Re: Protest?

I don't think we should protest in the staduim whilst the team has a chance of promotion.

Majority of fans are now where the previous FU protesters wanted us at a time it caused a fan split.

Need to continue to support the team whilst it matters and remain United as a support for best effect.

Some on Mad looking for a boycott. I doubt it would deliver the result we want and might cause more harm than good.

We need to continue to come together in the best ways and do it cleverly, organised and without becoming split again or becoming a fucking circus.

We have NO chance of promotion.
