Re: Gussie park

Hmmmm asset stripping ? Do we not owe the Borthwick fella half a million on Gussie already ?

Re: Gussie park

Yeh.. assuming his loan will need to be repaid?

Then the rest gets the wages paid till season ticket money comes in.

Re: Gussie park

I seem to recall that Gussie actually made an annual profit so (assuming United continue to use the facilities) will MM charge United for their use?

Will he take profits/cut of profits from other use?

We're the loans from the Thompson family also secured in this - if so have these been paid off too?

Re: Gussie park

Suspicious of anything which happens behind the scenes at football clubs these days.

Why wait until the day of a game to make this news public? It's a deflection tactic.

But...........if Gussie Park is seen to be worth £1 million by Thompson and Martin, that should be £1 million knocked off the asking price for the club, should it not?

Re: Gussie park

PS, has Mike Martin ever put any money in to the club? Not via the purchase of shares, which is feathering his own nest.

Re: Gussie park

This needs an explanation from the board....

Mm is now the second or 3rd biggest shareholder and he's bought gussie. I'd very much like to know what the intentions behind this  are.

Is it a case we had to pay back the loan? Does he have a wonder plan?

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

Re: Gussie park

Thompson steps down - his mate gets the training facility for £1m. How much is it valued at? How much income does it generate ( it's busy 12 hours a day). This stinks of asset stripping and not good long term business for Utd.
If Thompson wasnt stepping down I think there woudl be more of an outcry. THis is dressed up as some sort of step forward!! And the Courier appears to be backing that up big style.

Re: Gussie park

Sure fans raised lots of cash towards the regeneration of Gussie also.    This whole thing stinks.

It was, yes.

That is what's confusing me.

Surely his loan hasn't been paid back.

Regards the loan all i can think is perhaps Mike Martin has paid Borthwick his loan back and Utd now owe him (Martin) the loan?

Re: Gussie park

It would appear that Gussie is being sold to a Pension Fund company called Yorsipp.

Re: Gussie park

WTF is he up to now !!

Time we knew exactly what was going on with all this s.hite. Thompson is at it, yet again, I suspect.

What a mess he has made of our great club .

Re: Gussie park

The payment from MM will be used to pay the loan back, sure it was Cath Thomson that had security on Gussie and Borthwick on other buildings around it and Tannadice.  The rest of the payment will service what we need to finish the season.

This time last year we got the loans to survive, this year start selling off the assets..

Just start thinking what happens this time next year? Tannadice will be sold next.

Tbh if the whole Utd support isn’t chanting Thomson out for 90 mins at the next home game, preferably outside the ground, then we deserve the shafting we’re getting.

Fortunately I doubt they have the money to pay off the loan on Tannadice - that having been said I agree that it's Thomson out time (and Martin as well unless he comes up with detailed explanations as to what's going on)

I meant they’ll pay the loan back on Gussie to Cath with the sale money.

Borthwicks loans on the other buildings are next years problem along with Hugh Duncan’s loans on Tannadice. That’s when Tannadice will be sold, they’ll need to or shut the doors, cos there’ll be no cash to continue.

That new stadium up at Camperdown is starting to look a bit more real.

Agree that the Thomson loans most likely at the bottom of this and it's part of Baldymort's exit strategy. C

Think they might struggle to pay off Hugh Duncan's loan or sell to an external buyer so Tannadice probably safe in the short term, but who knows

Tannadice,Gussie all together is a fairly big area, worth a bit to 1 person to develop. That scares me.
