John Yogi Hughes
Did you hear Hughes on the radio last night ? I'm no big fan of his after he ripped up the Raith boys for bog roll. Anyway he was saying that he spoke to some Utd players before he was interviewed for the job and they told him that the squad was 3 to 4 players short to be capable of winning the league. So in his interview he says we could get this boy - he's out of contract (says it's someone he worked with before and trusted and would join before the weekend) and he had two other loan players lined up
He also wanted to bring in his own no 2
He said that if he'd came into Tannadice and said I'll work with what's here - he reckons he would've got the job.
I did warm to him last night - he's honest and passionate. I'd love to know who he would've signed.

I don't mind Yogi but I am really not sure if I'd want him as our manager. Suppose he couldn't do much worse than the last few though!
He did rip the Raith boys a new one but I think he completely lost the dressing room after that and look what happened to them.

What should worry everyone is that the players don't have the belief that they could win the title without new recruits.
Proves that all their talk on the papers is just that...talk.

It would appear that it's true that the players lack belief, but who's to say what has come out of Yogi's mouth is any more credible than what is printed in newspapers?

I think after hearing him last night he is a bit of a liar I'm almost certain when he went to hibs as boss he went on about how he was a die hard hibs fan all his life yet last night he said he was a Celtic fan up until he was about 16 then decided on hibs because it was his hometown team so he's a liar about being a hibs fan all his life

I don't know for certain that he tells fibs. But I reckon he is a fantasist, and believes some of the nonsense that comes out of his own mouth.

The stuff about wanting to bring in his own backroom staff and players in January putting the bald one off, is the exact response you’d expect of Mr. A
So given that that much is clearly true, I’d give Hughes the benefit of the doubt with the rest of his story.
