Truly horrible but not unexpected - which on one level makes it even worse

Much better 2nd half.

Hard to take positives out of another defeat and being put out the Cup but being philosophical about the game then i guess we have to try and take a few positives out of the game.
We scored two great goals and after going two down so early in i feared a serious hammering. That we didn't capitulate completely and kept going till the end was...well something.
Something hopefully to build on.

some players can hold their heads up after that Stanton Durnan Gillespie
average games Robson Murdoch Flood King Smith
pish = Lewis Slater Lyng
If we are honest most of us thought it would be worse at least there was a few tackles and a bit of spirit

Would've bitten your hand off, if offered 4-2 before the game, so I'll take that.
Tell you what though, thon Lyng makes me pine for Andis Shala, what an absolute heap of shit he is, never a footballer in a million years. One of the double glazing salesman's recommendations, so it's good to see our recruitment's in safe hands.

Apart from one nice one-two for Stanton's goal i thought Lyng was poor. Albeit it must have been a tough shift playing upfront on his own with little service.
The one chance he did get (which was actually a really good chance) he snatched at.
Thought Slater was our worst player however. Looked massively out of his depth or unfit. Or both.
Killie fans really rated him too

Matty Smith didnt do much and agree on Slater - hoping its fitness. Gillespie was ok though. Robson, Murdoch, flood, lyng all poor. king gets into space and past players but sometime nothing for him to hit
Yeah the game kinda passed Smith by.
Starting to think he wont make it with us. Needs to start showing more when he gets his chance.
No game now for a couple of weeks again.
I really hope Scobbie, Edjenguele or both are available for the Livi game.
Murdoch at CH is not something i wish to see again anytime soon.

Agree but think Lyng needs a different system and isn't a lone striker. Maybe do better against lesser teams if he is and gets plenty service. Slater was pish but might improve, I have more hope for Gillespie.

Gillespie put in as rb is Csaba's fault, but as a boy who earns a living as a professional football player, what a cunt he made at the first goal. Then turned his back on the fluffed shot. Cannae be arsed typing about all the obvious errors about other the other goals.

Still digesting the aftermatch feeling and rare as fuck contentment after loosing to Aberdeen. Looked like we were heading for an almighty battering and I worried they might even have a song for today to ram at us for years to come.
Never felt OK with being out the Scottish Cup but I only care about getting the fuck oot this league this season.
Injuries and suspensions have been fkn awful and can't take more.
Hope I never feel like this again. Encouraged with one half of a cup match and OK with being out the competition.
Some of the play in the 2nd half was OK to good. Sure we need to go with 2 up front and glad to see McDonald dropped as it shows naebody is guarenteed a place but what the fuck do I know.
Scobie and Edge might make Livy game which is encouraging.
Desperately hoping the shit has bottomed out and the end of the season will be better celebrated as a result of the opposite feelings.
Live in hope eh.

Far too optimistic outlook for me to share. I was embarrassed how clueless we were and all our play off competitors will have seen that as well

Thought the scoreline flattered us.
Defensively we were woeful, Lewis needs dropped he was poor yet again. Really need to work on stringing some passes together because we are garbage at that as well.
We improved second half but felt that was more to do with Aberdeen switching off after their 4th went in.
The only positive I could take is that we can now focus fully on the league.

Kinda glad we are out of it.... 4-2 isn't great but 2 main points....we were up against the consistently 2nd best team in Scotland and our defence was makeshift to say the least.
We won't play that quality of opponent for the rest of the season and you would hope that if we can reshuffle the pack it might be a little better....
Fingers and toes crossed.

Saw a post on another forum which summed it up for me........
The team performed a lot better than we all expected and got beat 4-2, kinda tells you where we are at the moment.

No lang oot my bed. Didna get hame until 1.00am. Ears still ringing fae concert in Glesgae last night.
Watched a lot oe the gehm in the boozer. 1st half and aboot 10 mins oe the 2nd half. Basically up to the time that Aiberdeen scored their 4th, so never saw McMullans goal except on highlights.
SSB 1st – A mis-kick fae GMS. If Lewis had been in the middle, and on his line, he surely woulda got that.
SSB 2nd – Slater lost the ba, and GMS is away on his ane, we nae chunt near him. Whar the phuch is Gillespie? Once again, if Lewis had been on his line, he mighta got it. GMS strike was mare like a skiffy off the wah.
Oor 1st - excellent pass to Lyng (no sure wha made the pass), great lay aff fae lyng for Stanton, and excellent finish.
SSB 3rd –Murdoch passes the ba straight to Aiberdeen player, Flood got diddeed, but Robsons the wrang side oe McLean and whar the phuck is Durnan
SSD 4th – Once again GMS no marked. Robson’s miles awa.
Oor 2nd. Excellent. Ken he's been banned and athin, but get him on every week fae the kick-aff.
WTF was Shabba daein we just the 1 striker on, when he had 3 oe them sittin on the phuckin bench? There was a period oe 10 mins in the 1st half when Lyng never touched the ba FFS ! Ye could see the difference in play when he brought McMullan on. And I believe the last 10 mins or so, efter Skippy and Big Mick came on, we were going like phuck. FFS.
Mind thinkin before the gehm, that it would show how good or bad we are. On its ane, the scoreline shows we’re half as good as Aiberdeen.

Not the complete and utter pumping I thought it would be. I didn't watch the game, was listening in Arabzone but my stream went down just after half time so I stopped trying to listen so I cannot comment on how we played.
Agree that McMullan has talent and if he screwed the nut he could be a really decent wee player. Seems to suffer from that most Scottish of trait though - daft boyishness.

Not sure what other clubs see in Robson, decent at best going forward but horrendous in defence. As for Flood, hang up the boots mate, you're past it. Lewis needs dropped for a couple of games. What has Ballantyne got to do to get a game? Murdoch is honking.
Positives to take away from that:
We scored 2 good goals and we didn't lose more than 4.
We need players back from injuries asap so we can have a strong finish to the season. St Mirren have the title, we need to secure 2nd place and have a full fit squad to pick from, a good run of form and confidence going into the play offs.

Highlights in HD here for anyone who never seen them.
McMullan really is a talented wee player. If only he could add desire and consistency to his game.
Feel a bit for Harry Lewis looking back. Decent big Keeper but looks low on confidence and making basic errors at points. Other times he makes great saves however.

the dent in harry lewis confident has been evident for weeks and weeks now.
