Injured players

So Toshney is out for the season.

Any word on the various fitness progress or lack thereof of any of the following?

Thomas Scobbie
William Edjenguele
James Keatings
Jordie Briels
Scott Fraser
Fraser Fyvie

None of our players ever seem to come back quickly from injury and the club keep the supporters totally in the dark for the most part.

Re: Injured players

Heard someone saying Keatings needed surgery but not a clue what the injury is or if true.

I suspect he's another we might not see in a Utd shirt again tbh.

Re: Injured players

Scobbie is out for Sunday which means Quinn will be at ch which pretty much guarantees we'll get an absolute hiding.

Scoobie was supposed to be out for a week or two. Three weeks later there is no sign of his return. Dr Nick Riviera strikes again at Tannadice.

Too much commotion

Re: Injured players

Looks like Carab was maybe infact correct with his 6 weeks diagnosis of Scobbie.

Starting to really really piss me off how often and long our players are out for.

Agreed! This has been going on for far too many years now. Is there something the fitness coaches and physios are missing? This horrific injury list seems to happen every year--add to that the amount of players we sign who are not up to speed or end up coming in then getting injured after a few games. Far too many cases for it to be just bad luck and coincidence.

Re: Injured players

The medical staff are hopeless.

Whether it’s the actual treatment / rehab, or their estimations of recovery time.

Hopeless.

Fraser training in three weeks: I'm going to think that's unlikely. It's promising 'jam tomorrow'.

See Csaba is also saying winger Chris Malonga wasn't match ready, he need someone 'now'.

“We need fit players, we don’t have the time for two or three weeks when we can do something with the players so we decide no.”

I'll also be surprised if we have a winger in two or three weeks.

Pat i wouldn't be surprised to see them try and rush him back.

Re: Injured players

Briels- seems he has an issue with arthritis in his hips, our medics told him he was fubared but he went home and got a second opinion and some treatment  then came back to give it another shot. Last I saw he'd had another setback so it doesn't look good.

Re: Injured players

Arthritis in his hips.

Not an issue till he signed for Utd though right? I'm not buying it.

Pat's right the amount of crocks we sign is astonishing.

Meanwhile 15 days on since our last game and only Edjenguele (might) make the bench.

Scobbie mysteriously still out. Keatings needing surgery. Toshney had surgery. Briels totally fucked.

Fuck me.

Yeah, the arthritis thing is a joke. That's not the type of thing that suddenly sneaks up on you. Why wasn't this picked up in his original medical? Or are we so desperate for players that we're sweeping stuff under the carpet in order to sign them?

Have I missed something, Keatings, surgery for what know he's been injured but what was serious enough to require surgery.

Re: Injured players

Briels apparently trained for the first time in 5 months yesterday.

And both Scobbie and Edjenguele have a chance for Livi away a week today.

Scott Fraser can resume training in a fortnight.

Money well spent eh? How many games?-no many
                                    How many goals?- no many
How much in wages?- too many
Uniteds transfer policy summed up.

Re: Injured players

We've probably taken a chance bringing in players who have some kind of fitness or form issue to fix or prove.

Taken a gamble for quality at a reduced price.

Injuries over all have been worse than average.

Need a bigger budget and better scouting to avoid some of this.
