There's meant to be no bids, according to some, but taking your scenario since this is a forum:

I've seen it variously written that Gillian Bayford is a Celtic fan or a United fan. As far as I can make out, the family are United fans, so I might assume she is..................BUT............... various reports have her falling out with the family.

She is now a bit of a property developer/speculator, so a bit of land might be attractive to her, but Tannadice and Dens aren't really on a prime site. 

In answer to the point made, I could only see vindictiveness as a motive to amalgamate.

On the plus side, Thompson and maybe Martin would be gone.
