From where we need to be as a club.
I'm not just talking about having a squad good enough to win us the title/get promoted. I'm talking about having a squad that is good enough to keep us up next Season in the SPL.
I said after our defeat from Dundee back at the start of the season that we played far too much 'tippy tappy' football and were by and large a team of dwarves who looked pretty toothless upfront. I still stand by every word of that.
We are only in the title fight because quite frankly we are playing in the poorest 2nd tier of Scottish football in many many years.
Tonight was a huge wake up call though.
How many fucking times when it's a BIG game does this Dundee United side not show up? It's getting beyong a joke now.
There is a loser mentality deeply entrenched into the clubs psyche these days and it is gonna take some real WINNERS brought into the squad to change this.
St.Mirren were shite tonight also but they for me sensed as the game wore on that we never fancied it and smelt blood. By the end of the game half our players had chucked it in my opinion.
Pathetic, deflating and above all worrying.

We all know the major problems no right back,no big striker, and we need some hardness all round.
the big question is can st do a harry houdini and haul some decent big rabbits out of the hat. It should be a case of he had better january window while maybe not the last chance saloon, could go a long way to determine our future.

Tek, I could probably have written your post, probably word for word (must be a worry for you being on the same wavelength as a decrepit old cynic). Have recently watched a few SPL games and our present side would be getting a few humpings if we were up there playing our brand of football and we would be down there in the relegation dogfight. Poor ST, he’s in danger of losing even more money

I agree with some of this....but don't see the need for the hysteria that has ensued after 1 defeat.
You know where we are lacking. I know where we are lacking and I'm pretty sure Shabbat and ST. Do too.
5 points behind with a game in hand is not the million miles behind that it's made out to be. We've still to play them. If we haven't filled at least some of the positions we need to come the end of January, then I'll think about panicking.
As for the spfl premiership....if you think the like a of Dundee, Patrick, county ext would be destroying us, even in our current form, then we clearly disagree. I think right now we would compete with the bottom teams. Given better funding for going up, we could easy be mid table

I’d agree we are I’d say 4-5 decent players away from winning the league RB, CH, 2xmidfield and a big striker. This given Fyvie is done, Quinn is away and we canny seem to get it keep Willo fit. Briels looks crocked and Patrick already away surely some freed up cash there

Tangy, the end of January is too late to wait for some positions to be filled, given what is now an injury crisis among experience players, some of which may not play for us again.

Does concern me a wee bit also

head in the sand? b and t? i don't think so.
Facts are, we are lacking in some areas. Shabba is good enough to realise it and I'm sure ST, as the holder of the magic beans, is well aware of it too. I fully believe, there is a plan to improve the squad as much as we can.
I am not going to head for the tay bridge just yet.
Online!
Fyvie injury has well and Truely fucked us right up, he’s our best player and made us tick, we some how need a player of his style, willo can’t play that role! We need a big striker and potentially another one as keatings has done absolutely nothing, we need wingers and full backs, basically 5/6 players not going to get all them so cmon Csaba pull a few gem oots

Keatings has been totally slated from utd fans and had been injured for majority time bes been at the club. Lad will do a job for us.
Fyvie out for season is a massive blow and we need to find cash this month to get us out this league which i think they will.
