Re: Nkoyi leaves united

The fact it's by 'mutual consent' means (hopefully) we aren't out of pocket too much (or at all).

Seemed like a nice big guy but unfortunately just not quite upto scratch.

Wish him well though and hopefully we get in a replacement asap.

All the best to him .....but never a player imo.

Re: Nkoyi leaves united

Good decision all round, I'd say. Should allow us another player in while he can hopefully get first team football

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

Re: Nkoyi leaves united

The boy obviously has something, otherwise he wouldn't be signing professional contracts for a number of clubs during his career. Same thing for Toshney, who has also been at several clubs. I don't like dismissing guys as being shite at football, when they have to this point made a living out the game. I wish I'd been as 'shite' as some of the players I've heard being cat-called from the stands.

It's just they haven't shown up for us. Best of luck to Paddy where ever he goes next.

Well said Pat. The systems we have used don't always make the best of our players' strengths & abilities and there's little evidence of the management team/coaching staff doing much to develop players skills during the last 3/4 years at the club. Leaving Tanadice is far from being the end of the road - some of our discards will carry on making money from professional football.  .

Your point doesn't even make sense, the man in the street isn't the barometer against which a footballer is measured.

Was N'Koyi pish when compared to your average punter? No, obviously not, he wouldn't be employed as a footballer otherwise.

Was Patrick N'Koyi pish when compared to any other footballer with a modicum of ability? Yes, absolutely, he was fucking rank rotten, one of the worst I've ever seen.

It'd be a strange world if the folk in the stands weren't allowed to pass comment based on their own ability with a football.

Re: Nkoyi leaves united

The boy from what I seen was very poor and it's not took the new gaffer long to tell him he's not got a future at Tannadice.

How many more?
Briels, Toshney and the Edge can all go also.

Re: Nkoyi leaves united

Honestly canna say how great or how p1sh he was. Only ever seen him playing 6 times in 16 games, so dinna think I'm able to give an honest opinion. His goal to game ratio overall is roughly 1:3. Not brilliant I agree, but wouldna describe him as p1sh. Like a lotta players in recent times, I mean 6 times on the park, sounds like the lad never had a chance.

Sorry I didn't explain it sufficiently for you......

Don't think I've said folk shouldn't have or express an opinion, it's the manner in which it is done which I find unappealing.

But I'd have to disagree about the "fucking rank rotten, one of the worst I've ever seen" part, unless you've not seen very many professional games. We'll agree to differ, if that's okay.

Re: Nkoyi leaves united

Think we saw the worst of him and didnae see the best. Not what we needed and sure Csaba can replace with better. Glad he's away.

Failure that didnae get his Rory Boulding moment.

He played a part in robbing Harkings and almost scored the 2nd at Morton but his time with us will go down as a failure.

Thought when he did OK he added something we lack but that's about it eh.

Edit to say, we are due a good goalscorer that get's us singing their name. Now is the time. If we don't get that McDonald needs to be on fire.

I'd keep Edge for this season anyway as backup.  His form has dropped off massively this season but he's still decent enough for this league if Durnan or Scobie have to miss out for any reason.

Anyone remember Alan "The Log" Irvine ?? I bet Dalglish still chuckles about flogging him to us for £100k. Paddy was a footballing genius compared to him....
I'm sure there were others that were far worse than Paddy too !

At least on a par when with us, if not worse......

Peter Hinds, Jean-Jacques Misse-Misse, Roy O'Donovan, Jim Docherty, Colin Campbell. There must be more.
But I never booed any of them
