50 applicants we are told. Bookies taking money on a mix of probable to fucked up laughable names for the job. Can only post 30 to poll so missed out the likes of McNamara, Mixu n McCoist etc.
DCT reporting The Board have a specific candidate in mind and could be in place withing 48 hours.
Would be amazed if it's not Hughes or McIntyre. Hopefully the latter.

You just need to look at the number of names and coverage of votes to see no matter who comes in they are going to have to work wonders to get some sections on side.
I’ve gone for Hughes. Did well at Falkirk and ICT however had time to get ‘his’ type of characters in the dressing room. He maybe doesn’t or won’t have this time if given the job. Doesn’t spare players not performing and I’d be a hypocrite to say as a fan I didn’t want my manager to tell some of our current crop to get a fucking grips of their balls and show some heart.
I wanted him before Mixu and ICT wouldn’t let him speak to us, compo was also a problem. He only left there as their board were messing him about as I recollect. (I know we have the same issues!)
Something seems to fit for me and I can see him doing a great job for us.
I’ll gladly eat humble pie if we go for him and it turns into a shitstorm but I’m certain it could work.

When I looked in yesterday, Hughes was our Tekboard favourite: now I see it's Laszlo.
Personally, I've not got a good record in endorsing management candidates. From what I can see, more people closer to the club/city had issues with Raymond getting the job, while I was at ease with the appointment.
However, the one appointment I was vehemently against in the past was Ian McCall, possibly because, like the Dundonians and Raymond, I had local knowledge of his background and dealings. And it's the same with Yogi, as he too was at Falkirk. He was there a long time for a manager (6 years) but his win rate was poor, for being regarded a 'success'. Steven Pressley had a better record at Falkirk, and I don't see the clamour for him.

Mr Debates, if I could debate with you, you are correct that no appointment will please everyone, but I reckon you have the wrong impression of Yogi and his ability. As stated above, he doesn't have a good win rate, and that is important in this league. Raymond had a better record than Yogi has achieved at any club.
Also regarding Yogi, can't you remember the ICT fans wanting him out early in his time there? Our 5-0 win at the Caledonian Stadium in the cup in 2014, I recall the tannoy guy playing songs referring to firing the manager at HT and FT.
Finally to get another opinion of Hughes, you could Google "Who in Scottish football is going to hire John Hughes now?"
I feel sick to the stomach at the thought of John Hughes as manager of DUFC

I’ll accept your info on stats Pat, what a coach looks like and his ability to motivate or demotivate is a different matter.
For me on paper we have the strongest footballing squad. In reality it takes more than ability to win a league title, drive, determination, desire are also amongst the traits needed. For me we lack in these areas can Hughes get that? nobody knows will the other names mentioned? again nobody knows.
If there was a certanty he would have been in already. Every name is a gamble, too soft, too strick, poor stats, not tactically aware, no experience, failed before etc etc etc. However we need to decide and hope for the best.

Although i am not completely against Laslo getting the job i am not sure quite why he is romping it so much.
His past c.v. is 'mixed'.
Good at Hearts (though had by far the 3rd biggest budget in Scotland).Done 'ok' at Ferenvaros.
Poor to mixed record in almost every other post.

I'd say he's done well apart from with National teams and Charleroi.
But he's probably romping it because anyone, including fans of others clubs, can vote, and also Tek, although you claim it cannae happen, an individual can make multiple votes by altering device settings.

Whoever gets it, I sincerely hope it's just a gig until the end of this season - get us up and you'll get rewarded with another contract.

BTW Alex McLeish was in Dundee on Sunday. Not saying he is who the club are going for but perhaps he was interviewed?

I don't recall claiming anything to the contrary Pat.
Regardless i would be surprised if anyone would be that fussed to do such a thing.
Oh and i highly doubt we have much readers from other clubs tbh.
