like I said in an earlier post re the numbers.. they have only themselves to blame for the poor numbers.
you cant say 1 thing at the start to try and get numbers then move the goalposts and not publicly come out and tell the fan base what side of the fence they are on.
a foundation CAN be a good thing for us imo but I'm not seeing this one taking off any time soon
Have you tried contacting them about these concerns? I don't have any doubt that the proposal is a good one, but its up to you to have your doubts resolved and I cant criticise you for that at all. I will drop one of the SG a message and see if they can put up any updates/clarification on the message boards (with TEKs permission of course)
I have to agree its a bit quiet at the moment, when we need action on all fronts. We all have United at heart, and that's a fact.several times on fb posts.
when they post as individuals it seems that they don't want the money to go to the club whilst Thompson is still in charge but wont as a foundation come out and make it public that is what they want.
them wanting 2 seats on the utd board was kept very quiet until a few weeks ago also.
there is a thread on here a few weeks back about the foundation regular updates on places like this should be given
I think because it's a 1 member 1 vote thing they cant as a group rule out giving money now, imo it'd have been better saying we don't think there's a wealthy buyer out there, so who wants to put money on to try and force change as a fans group? Again just my opinion, but they didn't do this as they don't want to be seen as a protest group.
It's a proper protest group who will raise funds to force change we need, that's where the fed, FU and DUSF need to come under 1 joint group for now to make this happen.

Speaking personally I couldn't afford another £12 per month on something Utd related (Foundation membership). I pay £33 a month on mine and my young lads season tickets and £5 a month on Arabzone. You then add in the cost of strips, his Young Arabs membership, ArabTrust membership (I know). All of this before you buy a pie at the game, a 50/50 and a pint before and after games, never mind the cost of the odd away game. I probably spend about £60 a month on Utd currently and I just can't justify any more money on Utd I'm afraid, especially given how shite the whole thing is at the moment and given that the Foundation have no say in the club just now. It might be different if they were involved as a fan ownership/part ownership.
Would never have s go at anyone personally for not signing up, but I was disappointed at how few did, there's def more could afford it. I can see why folk didn't tho with the possibility of it going to ST.
I probably could afford it, but tbh I don't think I could jusitfy spending so much to the wife and my daughter.
In most businesses, shareholders or individuals own the business and consumers buy the product, end of. They are not responsible for capitalising the business. In football it appears that the consumers are being asked to buy the product and also fund the business. Its a double whammy and tbh, Dundee is not a wealthy city, many people barely have the money to buy the product, let alone be asked to fund the business as well. It maybe works in Edinburgh with Hearts because its an affluent city and they've got a bigger fan base, I've never been convinced it would work here.
I would also say, lots of people around me yesterday were saying they won't be renewing season tickets next season. I'm on the brink of that as well.

Hear what you are saying bud, and Im sure you would if you could, and I totally understand peoples reluctance especially as things are so badly broken at the club.We need a big saviour not even the hundreds of thousands that a fully up and running foundation could generate is what we need to fix this clusterfuck, As I see it the money could be used to help the manager, or resurface the pitch as two examples, if thats what was agreed by the members - a helping hand to the club. . I ken nothing about directorships but as the steering group are just that, they can be retained or voted off any time at an egm or agm. I will see what other info I can get or get somebody from the foundation to post updates on here.
PTBAA but a wounded one just now.

A lot of very good points on this thread. It all keeps boiling down to this for me...
If we hadn't sold our two best players on deadline day, to the team we are supposed to play in 2 cups, one a final for wha? 4 million combined. Are we even here?
I just think the message that sent through the entire club... was just a walloping like.

Reading the posts with interest
The website states CLEARLY that the money will not go to ST
Has anyone even read it?
Also it's in our manifesto what our plans are re directorship for the Foundation. It has been there for all to see from day one

Correct me if im wrong please but was it not said at a q and a that if the foundation agreed on a one member one vote basis that the money was to go to thompson then it would? I wasnt at the q and a so im only going on what i was told. If you can clarify that would be appreciated.

Theoretically the members can vote in any way they want. From the reaction of the members it was clear this would not happen and the money would not go to ST
do you know ONE FAN who would agree to that?
No neither do I

Hid the bus, Chris Boyd says it’s due to Thompson putting Rangers down that’s why we’re shite now. I knew there was an explanation tae. Good old Boydie

if admin is away to hit and people vote to hand over X amount of cash to the currenr regime then it has to happen if thats what the members vote to put in. That cash may only last a few month but if thats what the members vote it happens.

Indeed Scarpia, it’s the only thing that gives me pride in my team at the moment, knowing they fucking hate us
Added to this the fact they are as big a fucking basketcase as we currently are

If they vote to stick the cash on the favourite in the 2:30 @ Newmarket that'll happen as well.
Don't see your point.

What he is alluding to is theyre saying on their website that no money will go to thompson when in theory it can.
Thats not me having a go at them merely an observation.

I read something which stated that it couldn't be ruled out as ultimately the members would decide if money went to the club whether ST was there or not, although it wasn't the preferred option as he had already suggested he wanted out. Or did I imagine that?
I get what you're trying to do, but it's clear even from just reading here that the message hasnt been clear enough. Tbh this is the type of vehicle the fans need but it needs way more people on board and needs to work together with the fed and others to grow and become a bigger group at least in the short term to force change. I appreciate that's much easier to say than do.
Would the foundation be interested in being part of/leading a fully fan owned club if it's the only way for change, seeing as there's no one else coming forward?

I'll maybe try to get an email response from them again, but tbh I cannae be arsed any more.
Edit: that Kris Boyd getting paid by the state broadcaster to spout his pish after dodging tax via a £215,000 ebt is shameful.

In theory they can give the money to Club 1872,
or rangers loyal, but you both know that there's as much chance of that as there is of lining Thomson's pockets.
Pedantry of the highest order.

They state that wont but uf the members vote for it to happen it will.
Id rather they stuck it on the 7/1 shot at newmarket that have the chance it went to the parasites in charge.
