Not a good pen in my book.C'mon Tek, you're making things up to moan about here
Making things up?
It was a poor pen.Doon the middle, nae pace...a moosey crawler. It was even worse than his Dundee pen (that was saved.
As for making things up?If the boy puts it in the top bin i wouldn't even have mentioned it (unless to praise him).
Some of you boys could really do with taking off the tangerine specs for one minute of your lives.

How many times does the keeper just stand though?
Not often,adnittedly.
That won't make that trundler a good pen in my book though.
A lucky one?Maybe.

FFS - it's an Development squad game and he scored the penalty. I could not give a single fuck but it seems you are looking for things to moan about

From the clips there, their left back had the full flank to run into, very poor to concede 2 goals from that, not being funny but players and coaches should be picking up on that. When playing a 4-4-2 the wing backs and wingers need to work together as a team, covering one another, supporting one another.
Watching players in youth/dev years ago, we had players like Johnny Russell, Armstrong, Gauld, Goodwillie that you knew had quality and it was only a matter of time before they would be in the 1st team squad. I don't see that from this squad of players, none of the players appear exciting to watch.
What happened to good old fashioned wingers? Beating players and getting crosses into the box? Have they been coached out of the game?

Bit too negative this thread imo. Don't judge them on one game.

That's a fair comment. Hopefully it gets better. Watching that game in person was worrying though. My mate who supports Motherwell said he was surprised at how poor we played as well though.

From a young age you are always taught, track back and follow the runner, for 2 goals our right side (RB and RM) went missing and allowed their left back and left winger the whole flank to run into. That is something that is taught from a very young age, "track your man". If we can't get basics like that right then we will struggle. I really can't see any players in that development team that could make a difference to our 1st team squad, our development are poor and the coaching ain't any better (that's from watching a few games not just 1).

Bowman's interview was interesting. Said that too many of them look like they don't want to make it as footballers. Wonder if that translates into too many of them don't want to play for Utd. He also said too many of them simply accept losing goals and don't even have a moan at each other about it. Too nice. I personally think this is a cultural thing. No-one is allowed to have a go at kids these days and they don't have a go at each other. They just talk behind each others backs. Its a culture of mindfulness which has no place on a football pitch.

The result of non-competitive kids football, but the experts can't see it.

Whilst i agree with that it strikes me that Bowman is passing the buck to an extent also.
When Stuart Armstrong moved to Celtic he dedicated the move to Stevie Campbell and said it was all down to him that he had made it as he took him off the scrapheap after being released by Inverness.
If you delve back into the Hall of Fame Sub-Forum and go back into the 'Harry Souttar Q+A' he uses the word 'inspirational' when i ask him for 1 word to describe his then Manager Stevie Campbell.
How many players would use that word to describe Bowman i wonder?Does he inspire any of them?
Has he made even one player better since he got the Development Manager gig?
