I was shouting for flood to retire today his time has come and gone. He cant play ahead of Fyfie Stanton Fraser or Briels. None of the youngsters look anhy where 1st team Toshney and Edge were both steady and there might be a player in Nkoy at least he does not get bullied. King and Stanton both look interested when they came on

Up to the point where McMullan scored our 2nd goal, thought it was one of the worst games of football I've ever seen at Tannadice. In contrast in tinjury time we play some good stuff !
Missed the foul for the Pen. Was in the bog, but heard some folk sayin it was soft, others sayin it was defo.
Alloa were'na that bad, they were'na sh1te put it that way. They were OK, but were we any batter? They had 4 corners in the 1st 4 minutes of the game FFS. Once again the opposition looked the harder team than we did.. Getting to be a familiar pattern. Wayward passing. Slow build-ups (or no build-ups ! ). Too much back-passing and p1ssing about. Unnecessary turns toward our own box when challenged. WTF is all that about?
Which brings me to Flood. For me he was dreadful the day. Kept wishin for him to be hooked. Then, hard to believe that the outstanding strike he scored from 25 yards, was probably the 1st time he played that ball forward away from our goal.
N'Koy showed signs of improvement. Looking stronger. Piggott OK. Some good touches. 1 attempt ovet the bar. Dailly struggled a bit with high balls. Think it was him that lost the challenge for the ball which led to their equaliser. Toshney didna see a lot of the ball, but had a no bad attempt with a header from a corner 2nd half. Allardice didna play a lot of the ball, but he did put a great ball in which Piggott just couldna get onto. He got moved into mid when Murdoch came on. Edge put the wind up folk with some of his clearances and passes. Improvement in play after King and Stanton came on.
MOM for me McMullan, simply for getting about picking up posession in midfield and defence sometimes when it really mattered, but in fairness he never got enough of the ball from midfield. I'd go for Logon Chalmers in 2nd place simply for the 4 or 5 atttempts on goal, none of them brilliant but attempts at least.

N'Koyi did really well I thought. He looked fit and sharp. Happy to eat my words if he keeps this up. The rest: dire bar Piggott who showed something though. Football played at a snails pace (yet again) with no running off the ball and no linking up. Stanton and King showed more in the 10 minutes they were on than the rest (bar N'Koi and Piggott) combined.

I dont understand why there was so little off the ball movement when they are well aware it's something they need to improve on. What is wrong with them?
Some random jottings.....Alloa played like the game really mattered, we didn't which is poor. They were on top of us most of the time & deserved at least a draw. The penalty was on the soft side, we'd be angry if it was us that conceded it. N'KOYI showed later in the game he may be the real deal, involved in all three goals. MEHMET looks every inch a safe pair of hands for a bench goalie. ALLARDICE is learning the back four so have patience. DAILLY got 90 minutes which is good. TOSHNEY & EDJE were generally ok together. Wanted to see more of ARCHIE, he was in a congested midfield. LESTER shows strength, first game in an alien environment so fair play to him. Logan CHALMERS was my motm, I liked his ambition cutting in from the right. McMULLAN will have better games, he must stay wide & hit the byeline more often. Good goal spared us from 30 more minutes. WILLO, take a bow son, that was truly the best goal non-celebration I've ever seen at Tannadice

Fair question, after last week speed of play was identified. Might be speedier without 5 young ains and regulars in place but worries are justified so far this season as we are looking at cutting out the fucking about and getting a league winning effort on the go.
Need to be patient and supportive but need reaction to identified failings to get fans behind the effort.
Early days but desperate for improvement.

Your wording implied (since it was quoting me) of being snooty.
And im far from being a tru fan these days but you crack on

Yesterday showed why Thomas was let go by Southampton. He's really slow. He clearly was getting frustrated by the second half and was making loads of mistakes. He's got ability and a proper physique but needs to pass and move instead of just passing then admiring it. He's a work in progress.

Whatever system the team employs, they need to belive in it. They dont. The tempo is shocking....needs to improve IMMEDIATELY.

They need to believe they're a football team.

To the competition's attraction once more, we got around 100 extra through the gate compared to the last round, and half the attendance we attracted at exactly the same stage last season.
At that point in 2016, we had five points from four league games, this season we have nine. So I doubt it is league form which is putting the fans off.

Its quite simply a shite competition and fans are fed up of it.
Also we arnt playing well which may put some off.
Clubs gotta be losing money tae.
17 teams left (TNS v Livi today).
7 or 8 from the C'ship, 2 from Div 1 (Stranraer & Rovers), 3 from Div 2 (Montrose, Elgin, Peterheid), 1 from the Hieland Lge (Cove Rangers), 2 from NI, 1 or none from Wales.
Next round weekend of Oct 7/8.
Home tie v the outside Scotland teams would be good. The draw is on Tuesday.
Best away tie would be Montrose.
Just saying - don't get annoyed!

More BS stats about this cup. We didnt play in the second round last season. We entered in the third round.

Ffs you the crowd was 1700 that tells you the competition is fucked.

I'm sick of seeing bullshit stats posted. It was the same after the last round, some people don't have a clue how to make proper comparisons. Wait until after the third round, otherwise you will look like a cunt.

Exactly.

That may be the case but using the wrong comparisons proves nothing.

Disnae matter what round it is. No one is interested apart fae the 1700 that went yesterday.
Im just going to ignore you from now on as i dont want banned.

Whatever round number you want to call it, it's 1 day apart a year on from the game Pat's comparing it to. There's also 4 rounds left, same as last year, so it is the same stage of the competition, or does pointing out facts make me "look like a cunt".
There are however more reasons for the poor crowd than just the comp being pish ( which it is) 2nd season of it means the novelty has worn off, Ray playing a reserve side and the biggest reason imo, the general lack of appetite for watching us at all right now due to shit performances as well as the whole atmospheee round the club.

Im just going to ignore you from now on as i dont want banned.bandt - is this what its come too folk arguing about rounds, dates etc and ignoring the plain facts?
I think i live on a different planet to some of the responses youve been getting - do folk really think chucking shedkaesque stats hides the fact that a) this cup is pish and a waste of time and b) Mckinnon is pish and a waste of
time too.
There is no debate to the above just now.
ST not includes as he is entirely a darker shade of pish.
Im puzzled mate. Im actually sick oh cunts like him. Remember hes the twat that said keatings is shite after watching him once.
Boys a tit plain and simple. Ivory towers of his living room is obviously better than boys that go to games ( excluding yesterday lol)
