One of our problems is that we have a lame duck chairman who given his record of stewardship, isn't really in a position to criticise anyone. Any decent chairman worth his salt should have hauled Ray in first thing this morning and let him know that that performance was completely unacceptable and performances have to significantly improve. I am realistic enough to acknowledge that you cant always expect to win and especially so against better or better resourced teams but I do have expectations that my team will go out with a decent game plan to exploit any weaknesses the opposition may have and that the players will work the tails off for the 90 minutes. I don't think this was a strong Dundee team and for the young central defenders to go through a derby game without being properly tested is just not on
Dear g0d. Are we still in the 1970's?!?! Last night was a sore one for all but we have to accept we have a new team gelling with a long season ahead. Signings so far look positive; let's give them time.
Going on a public forum (in full view of opposition fans) and spouting drivel like this is absolutely embarrassingHaven't a clue what the 70's reference means (even tho I lived through them) - did I miss something, what happened back then to merit a dear G
Agree last night was a sore one, yet another of the many sore ones we've suffered since Christmas. It all very well getting new players in but if the tactics aren't right, there will probably be many more sore ones to come.
I'm referring to the fact going into week 2 of a critical promotion season, you think the chairman needs to haul the manager in over the coals and thump his fist on the desk?!? Dark ages stuff. Ray knows that was poor last night.
As others have said, he'll have ranted post match then said "right, tonight's forgotten about, let's move on to Saturday and focus on the win"!

I'm not sure he would have ranted. It wasnt as bad as some people are making out.

I too liked the one touch stuff or what there was of it. However as you said it created 3 openings in a 5 to 10 minutes spell which generally is'nt (and hasn't been) sufficient to win games or entertain fans. One of my gripes (and I suppose I have a few) is that quite often we have as many bookings as shots on target in a game which is a something to be ashamed of. One of the reasons we have so few shots is that we invariably lose possession long before getting into the box trying to play through a crowded midfield - its a hard thing to do and we are not good at it
I know our goal against the Fun came when we had one of our rare passing movements but I'm crediting it entirely to a moment of brilliance from Stanton who decided to take on the defenders to create the chance rather than the (very) good sequence of passes which went before
