Watched the game on the box.
Thought we looked great going forward in the middle part of the game. Movement and skill were brill. A c.f. would have had us destroying them. Really like stanton and briels.
McDonald a long way off the pace.
Still some doubts on the keeper but looked ok.
Totally different attitude last season and don't think we will fold like we did the last few seasons. Look a tougher group and the cup aside (i dont care a out itl) I think we will have a good season.
We certainly didn't look a level below the see.

Felt we did as well as we could today tbh given the striking crisis that has struck us.
Totally pissed-off that our reward for winning the group is to go back to that shitehole. As Pat said it would actually have benefited us to have lost in the end.Scottish fitba eh?
Lewis - Seemed a good shot-stopper.Made one wonderful save from Holt and ran out well to block one of their players who was through on goal near the end.Question marks over his ability at crosses though. He looked shaky a couple of times and was left in no mans land at the death when Hendry hit the post (when it would have been easier to score).Made up for these faults by saving the 2 penalties. The kid has definite potential but is a 'work in progress' for me.Seems a helluva risk to go with a 19 year old as your No.1 when Cammy Bell is fit and available.
Toshney - Not his worst game today and tucked his penalty away well.Still think he's a weak link at RB though.
Durnan - Very good display today.Never gave Moussa anything.
Edjenguele - Possibly at fault for their goal?Otherwise thought he played very well.
Scobbie - Wasn't impressed with this signing initially but he is winning me round.Done well today against the boy Deacon who looked a real handful for them. The sort of leader we need.
Briels - The boy is all energy and covered a lot of ground in that 90 minutes.Loves a tackle.I'm a bit concerned he may rack-up the cards over the season.
Allardice - Kid done ok today.
King - 1st half was very good. Was involved in everything good we did infact. So unlucky with his shot off the post.
Stanton - Quite a quiet afternoon for him but his movement looked decent in the 1st half.Done well to set-up the goal.
Fraser - He has talent but far too often flatters to deceive for me.Today was another of those afternoons.
McMullan - Really like this wee guy.Fantastic finish for his goal as he was really stretching to get it.Once he has a forward or two to play around he will be a right handful for any Championship side.
Subs -
Flood - Looked unsurprisingly short of match fitness.Picked-up a silly yellow within 5 minutes and then gave away an even dafter free-kick right at the death (the one Hendry hit the post).Needs to get upto speed asap.
Chalmers - Only brought on to take a pen and then subsequently bottled it.Felt for the kid.Hope he doesn't take it too much to heart.A lot of pressure for a 17 year old to shoulder.
McDonald - Miles away from sharpness but still rifled away his pen with aplomb.Spoke well after the game i thought and looks the type of strong and big charachter our dressing room has lacked in recent times.
All in all we did well under the circumstances.
Concerned that our striking situation won't be any better in 9 or 10 days time however.

Very happy sittin here in the North Atlantic. Was Jeemy the moose loose aboot the hoose?
Canna believe we've to play they chunts in that death-trap again.

We will be better equiped next time. Not disapointed with the draw other than it gives them another crack at us and winning one was an achievement, bookies said that was'nt happening so 2 in a row is less likely but i'm not worried.

Liked Durnan's approach to the vermin when he pretended to through the ba in the moose puss when the rodent was at it.

Sums up my feeling pretty well tbh. Will add Toshney kept on his feet for the most part today which made a difference.
Fraser needs to take a game or I can see him benched more this season. Laddie is a talent but he's the proverbial Tinman fae the Wiz of Oz. I think his substitution was maybe a wee reminder that there are boys here now who are willing and able to take his place.
Need to focus on ICT now, forget about the cup we need to get off to a flyer in the league.

I can see why Southampton rate young Lewis highly, thought he was very good, he's constantly talking to his defence, telling them where to be, which shows he's a confident boy. If Bell's wages and a small transfer fee allow us to get a big physical striker and Quinn in, I'm all for it.
I also wouldn't be against us bringing in a left back, pushing Scobbie into the middle and Edge onto the bench.

We will cause every championship side massive problems going forward this season with McMullan, Fraser, Stanton, King, Keatings & McDonald to pick from.
We will continue to cause ourselves massive problems defensively this season, despite Lewis and Scobbie being imo upgrades on what we had. The amount of stupid free kicks we gave away around the box was horrific, a half decent side would have seriously punished us for that. We also didn't look comfortable defending them despite pretty poor delivery from the fun.
Regarding the cup, I like the group stages, you shouldn't be able to play a team from your group tho in the last 16 and there's no need for seedings at this stage forward. We will pump them again tho, they are pish.

The edge is a decent player but fuck me he's a idiot, he's constantly got his arms around the oppositions players and gives away countless needless fouls! Going forward we'll be a joy to watch!
Stanton and briels will also be a superb midfield pairing this season aswell, both massive upgrades from last season

Oh and as for Ray bringing on a young kid in his second game in the last minute to take a penalty, Fucken idiotic to put the boy under so much pressure like that, called the miss as soon as he made the sub, hopefully he gets over it quick, imagine how he'd feel if we lost because he missed.

Exactly. The young lad might be the best penalty taker in training for all we ken.

How good he is at penalties in training has nothing to do with it, confidence is the most important thing after ability with young players and that could have destroyed his completely if he cost us the game. If he's been on 5 minutes earlier even fair enough, but to bring him on with the sole intention of taking a penalty is madness.

"Hindsight poster". Well I certainly didn't think yesterday to post "Ray better not bring Chalmers on in the last minute just to take a penalty" so yeah ur right, it's all just hindsight.
As for agreeing with TEK a lot, sometimes I do, sometimes I don't, what's ur point?
The best way to get better btw is to learn from mistakes made while ur winning, demand perfection, so I'll enjoy the victory while expecting improvement and learnings to be taken from the game. While you enjoy it thinking everything's perfect as norma, fucken message board police.

Just watched it back and their keeper was a good 4 yards off his line when he connected with the ball, therefore it should have been retaken and he would have scored so it was actually Clancy being a fucking dickwad. 😂

I'm clearly not on the same wavelength as many posters on here who think we'll be ok going forwards this season. I enjoyed and revelled in the (penalty shoot out) win and (there is TV evidence to prove it) but I was bored from the lack of lack of goalmouth action from us. Yeah we may look pretty at times and I like the look of McMullan but we need to get get the ball in the box far more often if the pretty stuff is going to mean something.Four shots on target didn't win us the game in 94 minutes and may not be enough to win league games either.

Re Chalmers missing the pen - I'm sure it would be more of a blow to his condifence if RM told him he coudn't take one after he volunteered to take one (which I am sure he did). Missing it won't affect him I'm sure, he's a confident lad and at the end of the day his miss didn't mean anything.
As for the game itself, I thought we played very well 1st half, 2nd half fell right out of it. McMullan looks a great signing; Stanton looks a clever player too, King will do well in our league. Fraser needs to up his game, he offered little or nothing yesterday.
Scott Allan is a diving wee fud.

I enjoyed that, we should have been 2-0 up early in second half then it's a totally different game, we were hanging on at the end but over 90 mins I think a draw was a fair result.
I really like the keeper, he made a few mistakes but every time he did he sorted it, he'll get better every game I think, I like a keeper who comes and takes command of his box, yeah he missed one or two but his judgement will improve with experience.
Thought Toshney was as good as I've seen him yesterday, not great by any means but stayed on his feet and done the basics well.
Durnan and Edge were good, though as someone else said, looking back over highlights the Edge is all over his man at corners and will get punished for that.
Thought Scobbie did well, few well timed tackles up against their best player, agree with Slateford I can see him at left centre back rather than left back.
I like Briels but he was quiet yesterday I thought, Fraser too, I'm a big fan of his but terrific pass for our goal apart I can't remember anything from him yesterday, Allardice put himself about but was caught out of position too many times for me, another one with real promise though.
I thought King, McMullan, and particularly Stanton were superb, the interchange of positions and passing between them from 15-60 mins was really good and up against slower, less talented players in the Championship they will do very well I think.
Happy with what I've seen so far and confident for the league campaign ahead.
FTD.

You pissed me off by moaning at a time I was enjoying celebrating the victory. Pissed on my pissed up parade mate.
My point about agreeing with Tek was around feeling you don't agree much with anyone in full but say , "I agree with Tek alot". I might have you wrong & yer intitled to your opinion.
I don't think everything is perfect but definately do like to embrace the good times which you often pick holes in like last night. I don't completely disagree just think we have different ways of being Arabs.
I get more stressed on derby days than ever. Appologies for being short with you. I genuinley don't hope yer next shite is a hedgehog.
