Re: Dundee V Dundee United - Sunday 30th July (3pm)

Assuming Keatings, Nkoyi, Murdoch, Flood & Bell are still out, then

.                      Lewis
Toshney.    Durnan.   Edge.   Scobbie
McMullan.  Briels.   Fraser    King
             McDonald.    Smith
Subs Mehmet, Ballantine, Robson, Stanton, Allardice, Thomas, B Smith

Expecting Stanton in for Smith in a 4231.

Nothing to fear here, Dundee are shite.  We should go there and win.

Re: Dundee V Dundee United - Sunday 30th July (3pm)

Stanton will start, he was very good on Sunday. I think McDonald will start in place of Smith.

Re: Dundee V Dundee United - Sunday 30th July (3pm)

Going with the same assumptions, and adding another that McDonald can't be ready to start, I'd go with:

                            Lewis

Toshney   Durnan    Edge   Robson

King         Briels   Stanton    McMullan

                          Fraser

                        M. Smith

Subs: Mehmet, Ballantyne, Scobbie, Allardice, Chalmers, B. Smith, McDonald.

Re: Dundee V Dundee United - Sunday 30th July (3pm)

From what I've seen of Briels so far, I reckon he will be given the job of trying to prevent Allan getting on the ball.

Is Allan any good anyway?

Re: Dundee V Dundee United - Sunday 30th July (3pm)

I think the dees are shitting it. We're signing better players than them, selling more season tickets than them and looking good going into the season. Blue noses that Ive spoke to are not confident at all about their season and reckon they'll struggle.

Spoke with 2 Raith fans I ken right after their match and both thought he wasn't a standout or special at all, dived for a pen too & lucky not to be booked for it.

Early days season wise. He will have good games i'm sure so just hope he has a shiter against us.

Get on his case fae pre match onwards anyway.

He's provoked a slagging with his comments already when he 1st signed for them.

God (and Ray) knows who will play up front tomorrow.

McDonald will start on the bench.

All our other strikers are injured, including Matty Smith.

Given we're more or less through can't see Durnan being risked so Scobbie in at CH - not much in the way of other options given our injury list.

Is N'Koyi still injured too?

Just play McDonald upfront.Get a good hour out of him through adrenaline alone.

Re: Dundee V Dundee United - Sunday 30th July (3pm)

Ray mentioned that McMullan could also play through the middle.

Start McDonald. When he tires, bring on Allardice, move Stanton into the 3 and push McMullan up top. All very simple really

Re: Dundee V Dundee United - Sunday 30th July (3pm)

McDonalds suspended fir the first league gem, so surely geeing him an hour the day is what maks sense.

Re: Dundee V Dundee United - Sunday 30th July (3pm)

Effing stupid tournament:

if we'd lost that shoot out, we'd have had a home tie against Dundee.

And bookings, all the teams apart from the European four are disadvantaged going into the next round.

Re: Dundee V Dundee United - Sunday 30th July (3pm)

The Wagners need to give us mair tickets for the next round. We sold oot, they called it a sell out but 1390 empty seats so just geez them for the next roond!

Re: Dundee V Dundee United - Sunday 30th July (3pm)

Fitba wise not sure this told us much.

Toshney less rash than I feared
Scobie good at back but shite going forward
Edge at fault fot their goal

All attacking players limited by the lack of a CF

All in all If I was a funster I'd be getting ready for relegation

We need a decent CF to guarantee promotion

Re: Dundee V Dundee United - Sunday 30th July (3pm)

Just hame, look very good going forward at times and without a striker today we did nae bad. Midfield fell out of it the last 25/30mins but defended o.k to keep it level.

They minks think they'll shoe us next round you can tell be McCanns interview. Well bring it on ya mongs.

The only stupid thing is the bookings aren't wiped clean.

Re: Dundee V Dundee United - Sunday 30th July (3pm)

First half eh enjoyed watching us, looked solid enough at the back, and going forward wi McMullan Fraser and King looked dangerous.

oor goal- good fae king, the pass fae Fraser was lovely just piercing their defence, Stanton done well to set up McMullan wi a good finish. (Front 4 involved)
Their goal- Allan wi too much time, dina ken what's happening in the box, the guy just eases inti the box. Poor fae us.

Should hay couple players back by the time we play them again, excited fir it.
