Would like to see Ballantyne get a chance in this game.

Re: Utd v Cowdenbeath - Sunday 23/7/19 (3pm)

Not much back-up on the bench for Paddy.
Matty Smith's about it.
Maybe Louis Appere a wee cameo, it's only Cowdenbeath & hopefully we'd be a couple of goals ahead.

An important game for N'Koyi this one I feel.

Re: Utd v Cowdenbeath - Sunday 23/7/19 (3pm)

Think we'll go as strong as possible tomorrow and try and get another two or three goal winning margin.

A win tomorrow should put us through, a win by 3+ goals almost definitely.

If we go +8 or more goals after tomorrow's game it would take us getting hammered at Dens AND Dunfermline taking something at Tynecastle to stop us going though by my reading of today's results.

Nothing certain of course but it looks like the runners up of groups C, D, E and H will qualify for the next round to me.

Re: Utd v Cowdenbeath - Sunday 23/7/19 (3pm)

Looks about right Andy, but wouldn't rule out Dunfermline, they seem to be looking good so far.

Should win comfortable tomorrow and there's nothing to fear at Dens either.

Should be strongest 11 now, it's time to get the team settled and be ready to hit the league campaign strongly from day 1.

Re: Utd v Cowdenbeath - Sunday 23/7/19 (3pm)

Agree mate, the day I worry about playing Dundee is the day I give up on football, was just laying it out as I see it.

I think we'll win comfortably tomorrow, 3-0, and go to Dens with no pressure, a big shed following and come away with a minimum 2 points.

Re: Utd v Cowdenbeath - Sunday 23/7/19 (3pm)

I'd play N'koyi and Durnan up top tomorrow with Scobie at CH seeing as Durnan is banned for the ICT game and Keatings is out for a few months, we have nothing to lose at this point.

3-1 United

Re: Utd v Cowdenbeath - Sunday 23/7/19 (3pm)

It's quite fanciful I admit but Durnan being a Heggy-in-Reverse I very much doubt.

Re: Utd v Cowdenbeath - Sunday 23/7/19 (3pm)

Rather sad that we don't have even one forward in the Devs who we would consider good enough to play at home against the might of Cowdenfuckingbeath.

Changed days.

If strikers/forwards all showed the same determination in the box that Durnan does (both boxes)there would be more goals. It's that quality that makes him an option which is fkn sad.

You won't see a defender jump early to put a striker off or not at all in the box.

I want that determination all over the pitch.

Re: Utd v Cowdenbeath - Sunday 23/7/19 (3pm)

Durnan started as a striker so it's not just a case of throwing a big lad up top, it is sad that Dundee U-fucking-nited do not have any U/20 strikers who could step up but that seems to be the way of the club now and has been for years, even during the much loved Stevie Campbell days.

Who was the last striker that took the step up?

Steven Thompson? And if we're being honest he was absolutely pish his last half season aside.

Re: Utd v Cowdenbeath - Sunday 23/7/19 (3pm)

There's been a few since Stephen Thompson.

Goodie, Russell for example.

Ah FFS, it's early.

Re: Utd v Cowdenbeath - Sunday 23/7/19 (3pm)

That was it then, nothing between Thompson and Goodie.

We have had plenty also rans but nothing that made the step up, for a club who are/were held in such a high esteem for bringing through youngsters it's only so because Celtic & Hamilton aside the rest of Scotland are pretty poor at it.

Re: Utd v Cowdenbeath - Sunday 23/7/19 (3pm)

I'd like us to start with Durnan and Edge in the middle and hopefully be 3-0 after an hour and push Durnan up top, take of Paddy after his hat-trick and give Scobbie and Edge 30 mins together.

I'd go Bowers team with whoever Ray sees as first choice keeper in nets, changes after an hour if we're comfortable with the same starting team ready for Dens next week.

...and it finishes 6-0 & Durnan gets his hat-trick too?
My, my, my, beautiful Sunday....

Re: Utd v Cowdenbeath - Sunday 23/7/19 (3pm)

Looks like Ray doesn't want to risk Paddy or Durnan before the derby, surprised by that tho, perfect opportunity for N'K to get his first goal.

Matty Smith, Scobbie and Fraser in for Durnan, Keatings and N'Koyi.

Re: Utd v Cowdenbeath - Sunday 23/7/19 (3pm)

4-1 another decent win, good that Matty Smith seems to have done well today.  Now to get a striker in and destroy those trolley loving dead fox shagging cunts next week.
