Just another shocking bit of business which some will try and put a positive spin on. Granted Bell isn't 10/10 every week but he's a steady 8/9 most weeks.
Sickening what's happened over the past two and a half years.

Would only let Cammy go if we get a decent fee to then finance bringing in other players or if they offered us Jamie McDonald in return. Decent, experienced keeper.

surely the swap deal involving McDonald wid mak maste sense, if Bell goes ti Killie he's going there as no.1, putting McDonald who eh think is a good GK as second choice.

So is the team chasing the title & promotion gonna go for 1 keeper and fling in the bairns when Denis the Menis gets suspended for a last man challenge or gets injured bravely going down at a forwards feet or gets dropped after flogging a couple of goals or is our risk management strategy simply to cross fingers, toes and hope none of the foregoing happens during the season. I just wish we were as cavalier "on the park" as Ray & ST are off it. clearly season tickets dont buy you 2 keepers these days.

I see you are a trialist CCX2 2010 but I don't think you'll be getting a contract any time soon if you condemn this as 'another shocking bit of business'. It's a case of a player expressing a preference to play elsewhere, something that our club can do absolutely nothing about.

You may be right but then again the transfer window closes in August not mid July

No sure lumping Ray in with ST is fair in respect of squad building or the opposite annan.
Sure any manager is as desperate for the strongest squad possible as the fans are, never mind a manager who grew up supporting and playing for the club.

You seem certain that we wont be bringing someone else if Bell goes?

I call things as I see them and this ain't a good move in my opinion for us however as you point out it could be his desire is to play elsewhere and who can blame him.
Willo Flood & Ray Mc kinnon have both point out that we lacked a bit of quality in the latter part of last season and this move is in the wrong direction.
I also may be a trialist in this forum as you pointed out but you should be drug tested for happy pills ya crank.

I fear Bell leaving and having an untried keeper as no1.
He saved us quite a few times last season and will be a huge loss IMO.

Harry Lewis on Loan from Southampton, really highly regarded!

19 year old on a year loan deal
Very disappointed in this If bell goes and we go with deniz and this lad

But you have no idea how good either of these goalies are? Surely you reserve judgement until then... remember Danny Ward was Aberdeens goalie and he was around that age. Was probably the best goalie in the league while he was there and him leaving in January really de-railed their season.
Why is it that any time something happens within the Club it is immediately attacked by the majority of posters?
Like LEK says the new goalies might be the best thing since sliced bread but no, Bell leaving is a diaster. Despite the self same posters often being less than complimentary about Bell.

Smeds. I find myself to be pretty positive In general but I'm not best pleased. If both the proposed deals go ahead. What we find yourself is a very steady keeper to the unknown. Young players are notorious for having varied form.
We've seen some excellent youbg keepers player in Scotland. Ward was fantastic. Schmeichel was ok but free into the position. Tim krul was the same - ok buy not outstanding. If we had deniz the menace with 11 appearances and this lad with 3 appearances, it would make me nervous.
Can't say I'm loosing any sleep over Bell - alright but hardly brilliant - also injury prone (leg - not helped by commute from Annan?) and seems to have wanted a move.
Would have been happier with more experienced keepers in but will just have to hope the management have done their homework.
Tough for new keepers going straight into competitive games with no or little chance to bed in in friendlies.

The situation with bell travelling from annan everyday is farcical, McKinnon should have made it a priority for him to move closer. If and when he goes though we move on and surely never make the mistake again 😔

If this Bell situation means we get a small fee plus two goalies who we could be paying less per week combined than what we were paying Bell... means we might be able to sign Quinn no matter what happens with Coll.
I should say, I'd rather Bell stayed. But we have the situation to deal with now. Hope it pays off.

Aha, a bit of openness from the Club.

3 signings in a week!

I get worried when I hear the phrases such as "highly regarded" and he has "played for England at youth level". Similar things were said about Aron Kuhl and he must have been our worst ever signing possibly topping Tony Mols or the very exciting to see, Alec Nicholls. So it looks like we are going forward into our most crucial season ever with a reserve keeper with a handful of games under his belt who fans of his previous club (if true) described in very unflattering terms and an extra (loanee) bairn who has probably played less senior games than Harry Mollison. I was there in '65 and I fear the Fun might be about to get their long-awaited revenge.
