No more first team friendlies?

Before Raith in the Betfred?

Is that correct?

Re: No more first team friendlies?

Noticed that as well. Surely there is at least 1 more game to go. Wouldn't surprise me if it was a 'closed doors' game at St Andrews though.

Re: No more first team friendlies?

RM saying on Arabzone there is another three games but all closed door, they are playing Blackpool on Friday night.

Re: No more first team friendlies?

Tannadice had to be re seeded again after heavy rain a few weeks back. They said it wont be used till Raith match so that'll be why StAndrews or away games.

Seen a picture of Dens on Twitter the other day and i hate to say it but their pitch looked like a bowling green.

Must not rain 100 foot up the road.

Re: No more first team friendlies?

Think Tannadice is looking good Tek.

Think they are just doing what's best, playing it safe to give us the best playing surface possible without taking risks or unnecessary usage.

Re: No more first team friendlies?

League cup section games now effectively used as friendlies, don't like it, but that's how it's getting used.

Re: No more first team friendlies?

Remember two pre-seasons ago Jackie & Co went traipsing off to the Netherlands with the team & it was a disaster (precipitating a bigger disaster) & would have cost a lot of money too. I'd rather have it the way it is this pre-season.

Would like it less if we had a cup winning squad.

Dont like giving up on opportunity or belittling competitions.

Lack of depth of squad talked about and running out of steam at the end of last season.

Don't know what to make of this idea.

Hope it's a one off.

It's not a one off, it's how all the clubs are using it, happened last year too.

Dens, certainly in recent years, has always looked to have a pretty impressive pitch, even at the back end of the season. Must be all the toxicity in the ground underneath.

Id rather it was our signed players or trialists looking to get signed up playing than someone thats been released.

Re: No more first team friendlies?

A wee word of positivity here: Our goal today was fantastic. Great build up before Fraser's excellent bit of individual skill.

Too much commotion
