That's a very strange appointment for me.
Zero coaching experience and quite a quiet guy (a bit like Jackie).
Hope I'm wrong because i quite liked him at Utd (first time around anyway) but i can't see him being a success in management.

It being Airdrie, I hope you're correct!
It's a peculiar situation down there, with Eddie Wolecki Black being so long away after his stroke, and the club taking so long to decide on the next permanent appointment.
However, the chairman, Tom Wotherspoon, appears to trust Gordon Dalziel's judgement so much that Dalziel's suggestion of appointing fellow pundit Mark Wilson as Head Coach under Dalziel as Director of Football has been accepted.
Stranger still, it seems Dalziel may not be available to Airdrie FC on Saturdays as he has contracted media duties to undertake.
To cut that long story short: old pals' act.

Think Airdrie are in some sort of financial meltdown again. Blew a lot of cash last season trying to get up.
