Lee miller, Prince and ciftci

So with alleged interested from the club in ciftci,  Lee miller and Prince buaben I ask you has anyone really been that great when returning to United?  I can't think of anyone off the top of my head who was as good as if not better in their second spell with United and that includes players returning as managers. If  Lee miller returns I shudder to think how bad he could be this time?!
I d be initially excited to have ciftci back but then again I was excited to have goodwillie back too and that like many before never exactly went to plan ......maybe its time to wipe the slate clean and look to the future and elsewhere?

As Miller was utter shite first time out then chances are he'd be brilliant this time 😋

Where you hearing on ciftci interest?  Also is Miller really a true rumour?

Lee miller rumour was on a Scottish football page on Facebook,  personally I think it's been started by Falkirk fans hoping to offload the big lump o' shite.
Ciftci rumour just keeps coming back up,  doubt it'll happen either as Wigan are interested.
As for Prince,  I can see that happening..... Not sure how I feel about that one yet though

Re: Lee miller, Prince and ciftci

Prince & Jimmy need each other to bring out the best in themselves, it is no coincidence that they have been most successful in their careers when they have been together at United and Hearts, they have achieved fuck all whenever they haven't been playing together.

Nothing annoys me more than this.  Every year we're linked with taking former players back.  Do other clubs do this half as much as we Do? It's so fucking short sighted

MoM (by a mile) in the Celtic game before the cup final - still can't believe he never got a game.

Bring back the (real) "United Way" not the kiddy-on Martin version

Re: Lee miller, Prince and ciftci

Definitely a poor track record but I'm not into superstition and there's no rhyme or reason for it it's just generally players we get back are on the downside of their careers. Dodds, McLaren etc

Re: Lee miller, Prince and ciftci

I just don't get this obsession with "getting players back" , players either leave or are sold when they are on the rise or doing well with us, they head off with with varying, usually limited, success elsewhere then we suddenly appear willing to take back the falling or usually fallen star !

They've invariably failed or careers are on the wane, or they are just past it .......and we're falling over ourselves to bring back their good old days.

There's going to be a good reason why these people are going to be willing to drop to our current level in the championship .......their careers have bombed so much that's the only option open to them.

Never works, onwards and upwards and forget trying to bring back the past players, there's no hunger in has beens!

Re: Lee miller, Prince and ciftci

I don't think there's any obsession, in fact any rumours are roundly derided by most folk

prince is a definite interest the other two i dont believe are.  Dont thing prince is coming here.  Probably end up across the road.

Jesus though surely our chief talent scout or whatever he is can look beyond perth and ex players??

Yeah, it doesn't seem like he's cast the net particularly wide. I thought he'd be putting the miles in and was looking in England and Ireland etc?

Too much commotion

Re: Lee miller, Prince and ciftci

To answer the OP question.

Willo Flood was good in his 2nd and 3rd spells at the club.4th spell has been dissapointing (but not for a lack of effort).

Can't think of too many others though and i take your point.

Btw agree Gomis still 'had it' in his 2nd spell.

Will never understand why McNamara never played him in the 2014 Scottish Cup Final.Had a stormer on the same pitch 6 days previous.

Re: Lee miller, Prince and ciftci

Prince- Yes, would absolutely stroll this division and can be a big boost to our team.
Lee Miller - No from me but he'd probably be useful cover and with decent service chip in with a handful of goals.
Ciftci - Yes, but never going to happen, rumour is that he is going to Wigan.
