Yeah remember we got told that the club still owned a % of Ryan Gauld.
So looks like we could get a fair bit in the summer from Robertson and gauldWould it be too much to hope Armstrong or Russell are also on the move?
WBA reportedly preparing and 8m fee & 30 grand a week for Armstrong.

Celtic dont need to sell him he has been outstanding for them id imagine they could getmore than £8million

It will be great if any of our ex players get sold on because it will stabilise the club, but it doesn't hide the fact that ST has taken the club from joint 2nd top and cup finals to being on the brink of administration in 3 years with no plan to get out the shite other than praying for sell on clauses.
It will give him at least another season in charge at Tannadice unfortunately

Ap. I get her point but you are using selective facts to enhance it.
From 2nd and cup finals to the brink of administration.
Yes to cup finals - we had a good few - but joint second? Yes we did hit the heights but not for long. Aberdeen for instance could claim to be 2nd top....but not us. - top 5 would be a fairer representation of the truth.
Is it possible that we stumbled on a golden generation - one which isn't likely to be repeated over and over again? Hibs had one. Hearts have had 1 and probably the dons are having theirs right now.
Had ST (aka baldly snake for the avoidance of doubt) not have sold all the players, then they would have walked for free. The ONLY one I feel aggrieved about was Stuart Armstrong - with 18 months on his contract, we had another window to flog him. I'd probably have kept gms purely for the fact of such a low offer but then he has the heart the size of a mouse - so who knows what has we would have seen.
As for having a plan - you don't know that - do you. Either do I. I really hope the meetings that have been discussed with ST and all the fans groups come up soon.
(We do know that massive budget cuts have been put in place and I'd imagine further cuts will come from next season's wages budget. I think the clearout of premiership player wages and the chance to cut the dead wood at the end of the season will help massively and taking on players who are hungry for a career will help.

I would argue that we had two golden generations within a short time of each other.
The one that won the cup (which was probably the better of the two) and the one that you guys are speaking about: Gauld, Armstrong, GMS, Cifcti, Robertson, Souttar etc. With Johnny Russell coming in between.
The difference is that the one that won the cup yielded hardly any money bar Goodie (granted that Robson and Hunt went for something as well just as that team was coming together). Conway, Scott Robertson, Prince, Gomis, Swanson, Dixon, Pernis and heck even Kenneth circa 2009-2011 should have all commanded decent transfer fees but left for sweet fa after winning only one trophy and losing another final. ST didn't want to get his fingers burned with the second group going en masse as Tangy said for nothing but development fees (which they would have because that is the attitude of the modern player).
The biggest problem in all of this was a) McNamara convincing ST that there were ready made replacements when they were in fact shite. b) McNamara and ST conspiring to get rid of the man (Campbell) who possibly could have helped develop the next generation albeit after a few difficult years. c) The failure to replace Cathro at the lower end of the system. Effectively, ST dismantled a team and the foundations Levein had put in place all at the same time all on the say-so of that fucking charlatan McNamara.
Oh and we still have debt after all that.

The fact we are on the brink of administration if a player sell on clause doesn't come in shows ST isn't fit to be at the helm of our club, our business model shouldn't be praying for sell on clauses we should be self sufficient with our fan base but we have lived outwith our means for years.
IMO Thompson has to leave as he's lost a large chunk of the fans so a fresh start is needed ASAP.
It's absolutely criminal we are in debt considering all the transfers of our best players, if we were at least stable and rebuilding the team it would a bit of comfort.

This is nail on the head stuff, and it's sickening. esp.the bits highlighted.

Ap.
Guess the business plan didn't involve relegation. I've a lot of things I can cruise ST for but he backed much to the hilt to avoid relegation and that came at a cost. We also can't just cancel the contracts of all the sh!'te left in the squad - we had to pay them off (more expense) or go with what we had.
It was always going to be a period of financial loss. The bit that I'm most interested in though, is the assertatiom that we are close to administration. I'm not doubting you but I'd like to know where your claim is coming from. Is it from your accountant? If so, that's an accusation he has to put his name to or is it your perception of the situation based on the numerous loans we have taken out? Not having a go - just need facts to build my opinion on 👍

Tangy have you missed all the borrowing lately just to see the season out?
It's crystal clear we are heading to administration like a runaway train unless the sell on clauses come to fruition.
Andy Robertson will on stabilise us short term huge financial cut backs are required, the party needs to be ended at Tannadice.
Offline
1. Borrowed close on a £1m to see the season out
2. Season ticket sales are going to be significantly down
3. While it's claimed running costs have been cut by approx £1.5m, turnover for this season will be about the same amount down, therefore we're going to make a big operating loss again.
4. All fixed assets of the club are now secured to current loans, there's nothing left to offer
5. Current directors of the club could financially benefit from administration as a result of the securities on loans
Facts maybe/maybe not but it's how I see it and some or all of these points could easily send us into admin.
The Liverpool deal for Andy Robertson will help as will any other moves, but the fact remains that whoever runs the club needs to run it in a way which avoids it making losses every year. The club must be better managed or this situation will keep going until it's too late.

Backed him to the hilt by selling Mcgowan and Soutar last January. Replacing them with.... nobody.

Sporting Lisbon now also linked with Robbo.

Thank fuck. Media were already talking down his transfer fee as his contracts up on 30th June next year. We need a wee bidding war here.
Edit to say, hard to know whether the 'Mirror' reports that £8 million and personal terms are agreed with Liverpool as reported.
Newcastle linked with hijacking the deal too but media reports are iffy as fuck and probably mainly gobshite.

If he has the choice between Sporting and Liverpool, I really can't see him opting for the former, especially given Gauldy's experience there.

Could be wrong, but did Liverpool not sign a left back in the last week or so?

No, haven't signed anyone yet.

Not convinced he'll end up at Liverpool. Their fans are getting really pissed off with the American owners because they don't appear to want to invest in the squad. They've publically pulled out of signing Van Dijyk already.

Thats because they made an absolute cunt of it by tapping him up. Media pundits saying it was a done deal when infact they hadnt even asked for permission to speak to the player. Now we all know tapping goes on regularly but looks like this time southampton have had enough and reported liverpool for it.

Hope Burnley up their offer to £12 million, then Villa come in with £13 million and so on well we can all dream eh?
