Hope I'm wrang but, terrible signing IMO, never rated um as a player, i kehn we're no very good at the minute but surely ti f*** we should be going fir better.
I'll reserve judgement til I see him.
Not away to write him off before he's kicked a ball.

Played in a team who has finished in the top 6 regularly in his time there, canna be that bad! Keep the head, this is the championship after all, he'll be solid
Principally a left back who can also play central defence.
Bad news for young Jamie Robson tho there had been rumours about Aaron Taylor-Sinclair coming to steal his berth.
Tho I'm sure Jamie will be at least a good squad man as he climbs his career ladder..

I'm happy with that signing, hopefully last season's injuries are behind him. He's played an average of 25 games a season for a team which has been better than us by a distance over the five years he's been at St Johnstone.

Can't see the ats rumour being true cause I would imagine scobbie will be playing left back unless one of the centre halfs are leaving
Online!
A painfully average player in my book.
Never ever rated him tbh.
5 Falkirk seasons & 6 at St Johnstone averaging 25-30 games a season suggests consistency//dependability, a good solid pro, the type that is in pretty short supply these days?

Terrible signing he's absaloutely fucking shite, just because he played roughly over 20 games a season with St Johnstone doesn't mean he's good he's absaloutely fucking pish

Och well it's all about opinion....

If he's been at Saints for 5 years he will have a winning mentality. Can't say I've ever seen him play and think he's good or bad. So happy to let him do his talking on the park. Remember similar outrage when we signed Darren Dods.
Welcome to Tannadice Tam

TBH canna remember a lot aboot him, even the times he's played against us, but him and Ray seem chuffed.

If I was a club owner of Dundee united and the team manager came to me and asked for funds for tam scobie I would firstly piss myself laughing then immediately sack manager on the spot

Correct. Nowt like waiting to see him play first.
Six seasons at Saints and top 6 every season with top 4 finishes 4 of these years & he's played in maybe three quarters of the games each season. Not too bad?

See when you don't remember how well a defender played, its normally a good sign. It means he's not a flash bastard but didn't put a foot wrong. I don't remember how good Tam is, so I'm taking that as a good sign.
Also, he has been part of a St Johnstone defence that we have commented on before. The comments were along the lines of not having great individual players who played better together as a unit.
He doesn't have to move house or leave family etc which makes for a happy player

I remember we signed a left back and I wasn't excited about it and was hoping the manager was going to sign another to play that position, four years and £11,000,000 later he is about to sign for a club who have won the Champions League/ European cup FIVE times.
What do fans know?

Think some fans need to realise the position we're in, we're not gonna be signing many big names at the moment. I don't remember an awful lot about Scobbie, which as said is probably a good sign. Tommy Wright doesn't sign many mugs, and certainly doesn't keep them around for 4 years. Reckon this'll turn out to be a very astute signing, we've long needed some good, experienced, pros who know the Scottish game, if this is the type of signing we're looking to make this summer, I believe we'll do all right next season.
While it's not the most exciting signing we've ever made its worth bearing in mind that
a) Ray is building a squad
b) We are in the second tier and not exactly swimming in money.
My one worry is that he has had two lengthy spells out in his career due to ligament famage

Scobbie isn't great and he isn't exciting but he's better than what we had playing LB last season. We need a solid dependable, boring if you like, back line and he fits that bill.
I'm quite happy for the exciting, pacey, skilful signings to come in the attacking areas, let's hope that happens.

Happy enough with this, solid defender and we need some grit in the team along with a bit of skill so toughening up at the back is good.

We needed a solid Scottish left back who knows this league and what It takes to battle, Tam Scobbie fits the bill. Still hope we bring In Taylor-Sinclair on trial.
