Next season

Hoping the clear out and new players coming in, we can secure automatic promotion.

Squad we have so far:

GK - Cammy Bell, Brett Long
RB - Nicky Devlin, Cammy Ballantyne
CB - Mark Durnan, William Edjenguele, Lewis Toshney
LB - Jamie Robson
CM - Stewart Murdoch, Scott Allardice, Scott Fraser.
RW - Matty Smith, Ali Coote.
LW - Billy King
ST - James Keatings

We have been linked with: Lewis Vaughan (ST), Blair Yule (CM) and Aaron Taylor Sinclair (LB)

However there are many players out of contract and some players that could be at least worth a trial:

Goalkeepers- Scott Gallagher (GK), Gary Woods (GK)

Defenders - Louis Laing (CB), Conrad Balatoni (CB)

Midfielders- Jonathan Franks (RM), Chris Humphrey (RM), Robbie Crawford (RM)Fraser Aird (RM) , Sean Welsh (CM), Gary Fraser (CM), James Craigen (CM), Chris Johnstone (LM), Joel Coustrain (LM)

Strikers - Greig Spence (ST), Jamie Insall (ST), Dale Hilson (ST)

Re: Next season

For a bit of info about these guys I'd go on the Terrace Podcast website. Fans have been doing their player by player reviews of many clubs. Lets just say the players mentioned are being released for a reason especially, Louis Lang and Fraser Aird.

Too much commotion

Re: Next season

Good shout bud, personally I would like to sign Gary Woods as a backup keeper, Lewis Vaughan, Blair Yule, Aaron Taylor Sinclair, Sean Welsh, James Craigen, Chris Johnstone, Jonathan Franks, Robbie Crawford and Greig Spence. Would all improve our squad.

Re: Next season

Never knew we were linked with Lewis Vaughan: hope not.

Like LAO says, most of these guys have left their clubs for a reason.

Johnstone showed potential a year or two ago, but seems to have lost his way. Humphrey, when on form, would be an asset, but he, like many wingers, lacks consistency. I wouldn't be excited by many of these guys signing.

Re: Next season

Was impressed with James Craigen when he played against us for Falkirk and Greig Spence has a good goal return from whatever club he plays at.

Re: Next season

Humprey no better than Tope?
Hibs fan says he played well in one game for them & sadly it was v Utd on his debut.

He was excellent that night.

Strange one how his career has floundered.

Agree on Craigen, though maybe a bit one paced would be my only worry?

Re: Next season

Some of the names getting thrown about just now are fucking laughable.

Greig Spence? Nice guy, but not even close to being nearly good enough, he'd even tell you that

Dale Hilson?  What's he done since we released him to suggest he could lead our attack int po the premier league

Chris Johnston? Did nothing at a club relegated from the league we're trying to win

I know its that time of year, but it's getting silly

Re: Next season

Craigen flattered to deceive against us in parts of both play off matches, due to the poor form of our midfield, especially Wato. IMO, of course. However, all the guys apart from Craigen listed above are wee guys, he's a tall, slow albeit relatively skillful player.

Falkirk fans aren't bothered that he's out of contract, that's enough of a non-recommendation.

Nope Im trying to think of players that would do a job for us and not cost a fortune at the same time. Unless we have a £10 million war chest that you are aware of let us hear your suggestions for signings

Re: Next season

We need improved all over the park next season

The fullbacks didn't do enough going forward this season

The midfield couldn't go away from home and strangle the game resulting in us not losing

No width or pace,,,,,,enough said

The forwards weren't clinical enough or technically good enough holding the ball up and linking the play

At least the first two signings would appear to be of the right kind, long closed season ahead though

Couldn't agree more AP. We also need to drop this 4-2-3-1 formation and go with a a 4-4-2 and attack teams.

Me too and a manager that allows/encourages etc players to stop goals, create goals and score goals. I'm simple too.

I like 4-3-3 we won a league title, 2 league cups and was a force in Europe for years playing 4-3-3
