The Sun's article has had the desired effect in that we are discussing the Sun's article.
But to Wato himself: I was enthusiastic about the lad, for all his obvious frailties. However, it was a case of wrong time and wrong team for us and him, we didn't have time to carry his potential, or the team wasn't able to support a luxury such as Wato until his performances stabilised.
Crazier than Ciftci, and more erratic on the park, he still has time on his side, but whether another team have the patience is the question.

He wasn't being 'bullied'.
He simply wasn't used to Scottish football (the culture, the passion, the speed of the game).
That clip round the ear from Durnan was as much to 'gee him up' as it was to castigate him imo.It was just a clash of cultures tbh and Wato as a young guy from Cameroon took exception to what he seen as 'bullying'.But it wasn't bullying. Not in a million years.
I still think McKinnon could have handled it better. He admitted Wato apoligised to his team mates. He should have said go infront of the cameras and apologise to your team mates and supporters.
If he had done that then the issue would have been closed for me.No need to persecute the guy.He is young and reacted in a very foolish manner. But he is young.
But he admitted himself if it ever happened again on the pitch (a team mate falling out with him) then he would 'ignore it'.So he has learned from his mistake quickly.
He's probably had more written about him than he deserves but i still have a lingering feeling he could have offered something. Not just last Sunday but beyond.
If i was McKinnon i would have got him to publicly apoligise and then maybe take a chance on him on Sunday (from the bench at least).
Would have said to his face i still wasn't sure about him still (because I'm not) but would have offered him the chance to train and play in pre-season friendlies and then make a final decision on him after he had a pre-season under his belt.
If Wato wasn't acceptable to this then i would have said 'goodbye and good luck'.He has raw potential, mark my words. It just needed managed properly.
Making snap judgements straight after a match is bad protocol imo, particulary infront of the medias glare.McKinnon has hopefully learned from this situation because fall-outs hapoen in football all the time.
Look at the way St.Johnstone and Tommy Wright handled the Swanson/Foster debacle as a good example of how to handle these situations well (they seem to do everything well and adopting common sense).
anyway....hindsight eh?Wonderful thing.

Feck me. We've got enough real problems to deal with before inventing more
