Seen this on Angry Arab, think it should be seen by as many supporters as possible
FU STATEMENT
The following is a summary of the key points coming out of the meeting organised and chaired by Fans United on Friday 5th May and all subsequent communications.
We apologise for the delay in posting this information but felt it best to focus fully on the playoffs so we have held back on this up to now.
BRIEF MEETING SUMMARY FROM 5th MAY
Present were FU, The Fed, United Ladies of Tannadice, DUBC, Arabtrust and The Foundation.
FU presented our views on the current position and how we felt action was required to get the chairman round the table to discuss matters.
A frank, open discussion was then held into the financial state of the club currently, although differing views were held on some matters across the groups.
The majority of fans groups agreed that they still view the financial position of the club as critical.
We then found out that emails had (just prior to the meeting) been received by all groups attending stating that the chairman has agreed to collectively meet all groups to discuss the current position and the strategy going forward. This meeting is now scheduled for Friday 2nd June.
Full minutes of the meeting to follow
FU POSITION IN RESPONSE TO THE CURRENT SITUATION
FU views on the above are that the financial position of the club appear critical and we believe that the club may struggle to fulfil next seasons fixtures without substantial non-operating income coming into the club. As this income is, by the chairmans own admission, uncertain; then we have questions which need answered by the chairman to alleviate these concerns. These concerns have now been magnified by yesterday's result and the reality of another season out with the top flight.
FU are happy that the chairman is saying he will meet to discuss the above on Friday 2nd June and it has been agreed that the meeting is to be structured to allow open questions and answers.
FU are still of the view that the chairman will only meet with us on this basis should he view it as a necessary evil. He has reneged on attending meetings with The Fed previously despite promising to do so - meetings scheduled to discuss very similar matters.
FU perceive the only way to apply pressure on him to view a meeting as necessary is to hold back purchasing a season ticket at this point in time. Withholding season ticket money temporarily just now will show him how seriously the supporters view this meeting and how he can no longer ignore the fans views.
For the avoidance of doubt we are categorically NOT promoting a boycott of season tickets, merely asking for a slight delay in purchasing them to facilitate getting the chairman round the table to hopefully answer all concerns raised.
Furthermore with so much uncertainty we wouldn't want to see hundreds of Arabs' hard earned cash be thrown into a financial black hole. We want to be assured the club has a robust plan going forward to ensure that the conditions of the season ticket are honoured and the future of the club is secure

Thanks for posting this here - I would rather stick needles in my eyes than read Arab angry.

Yep I feel the same to be honest, opinions aren't allowed on Angry Arab. Few very bitter people on it too!

Fair enough re seasons: this period has another 5 weeks until prices go up anyway.

Is it just FU that are telling people how to spend their money or will there be similar statements from the, United Ladies of Tannadice, DUBC, Arabtrust and The Foundation. I am perfectly capable of deciding where and when to spend my money but thanks for the advice.

Beharder, I don't think that statement is 'telling people': you yourself have said 'thanks for the advice', and that is all it is.
We can all decide where we stand on any issue.
