Glasgow Herald article

Quoting Dundee United's auditors 'Condie+Co' as stating there is a "material uncertainty which may cast significant doubt about the company's ability to continue as a going concern, and therefore its ability to realise its assets and discharge its liabilities in the normal course of business".

http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/15295728.Auditors_warn_of__material_uncertainty__over_Dundee_United_as_a__going_concern_/#comments-anchor

Not sure this is 'news' to anyone exactly.

But it's the first time I've seen a quote attributed to our new auditors so thought it was worth posting.

Long and short of it is (i suppose) that we really need to either...

1)Get promoted
2)Andy Robertson to move
3lRyan Gauld to move
4)Johnny Russell to move

Or

5)Any or ALL of the above

Because season ticket and merchandise sales doesn't seem to be enough for our club somehow.Even though we are the 6th biggest team in Scotland out of 42.😒

Re: Glasgow Herald article

No doubt Thompson pushed this press release seeing as everyone has clicked on about his every single statement ending in "please buy a season ticket" and people not buying into it anymore, pardon the pun.

United can say season ticket says are up on this time last year but how many people bought a season ticket in April last year when there was not incentive to do so?

People can defend Thompson all they want but EVERYONE knows he is killing / killed the club.

Re: Glasgow Herald article

The club is bleeding money. Everyone must be aware of that.
We have had to get loans of around £1m in 2017 alone and we are not halfway through the year yet.

Re: Glasgow Herald article

Funnily enough it said exactly the same in the previous years accounts.

Re: Glasgow Herald article

Incredibly poor timing by the herald. It's a complete non news story from the point of view we all know this but happens to be released on the day of our playoff against Falkirk.

I'd have hoped that rather than dredging up some old news we could be getting ready for the biggest game of the season.

If we somehow make it through, what's going to be the headlines when we play the prem team? 'Tim two gone and not coming Back?

Also, I'd like to see how many other Scottish clubs have a similar statement in their accounts

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

Re: Glasgow Herald article

Agree Tangy but from a different perspective. I take it that this Conman and Co are under contract to the Club. So why the phuck are they giving statements to the press - I mean DUFC are their clients FFS. What does that say about them.

Re: Glasgow Herald article

I don't think they have, have they? Isn't it just pulled from the overview on the first few pages of the accounts?

Re: Glasgow Herald article

United fans realise that ST and the board have made an arse of running the club.

I've got strong and quite negative opinions on the written media, and a so called 'quality' paper rehashing this story today just reinforces that view.

The article panders to their loyal hun readership, while potentially unsettling our supporters prior to a very important fixture tonight.

I sometimes slate Facebook and Twitter, but gradually I am coming round to getting more meaningful articles from social media and bloggers.

Re: Glasgow Herald article

Its using the clubs accounts to create a headline on the day we need to purely be focussed on football.
for example, he states:

When it actually says:

He's conveniently missed out the last sentence stating it wouldn't affect the performance of the accounts.

He's used the auditors name, sharon and made it look as though she's given him direct quotes.

Shite journalism.

For me, if he's been on our companies house page, I'd be more interested in the 'Satisfaction of charges' in respect of the Charges taken by Alistair borthwick for the loans he gave us. Have we paid them back already or what?

She never gave that as a direct quote.
She's the accountant that done the accounts. He's used what she said in the accounts as a quote.

Lazy as fuck journalism.
