Re: Dundee United v Falkirk

Thought as soon as Murdoch went off injured it could be an uphill struggle to gain a win and so it proved.

1st goal a great flick on from Mikkelsen and Murray runs on to it and finishes well.

Perfect opportunity to kick-on and really take the game to Falkirk right?

Of course not.

Fucking awful,awful,awful after that.

We are so so bad at defending cross balls it's almost comical now. It's Pub league stuff.I agreed with Edjenguele getting a new deal at the time. Now i am not so sure that was a great decision. His reading of crosses is no better than Durnan,Donaldson,Dillon's et al.

Thought Sibbald,Leahy and even Mark Kerr easily ran the game.

Wato was really bad tonight and got a real wake-up call tbh.Against Morton after we scored the 1st he came on to a game but a lot of that imo was to do with Morton's heads going down and tiring. This gave Wato time on the ball and when he has that he looks useful.

Tonight though Falkirk nipped at his heels and harassed him from the off and he didn't like it one bit.Now a big decision for Friday as to who plays beside Flood.Give Wato another chance and hope he's learnt from tonight to move the ball quicker or go with Telfer who never looks like dominating a game of this type.Or go with Allardice the wildcard or Fraser who's probably nowhere near fit.

Might be worth gambling on Fraser.

Cammy Bell should save the free kick.No doubts about that in my mind.It was pretty central. It's 40 yards out.Miles away from the wall as well so he has a good look at it coming towards him.

Simon Murray takes his goal well but really doesn't have a footballing brain for me.So often doesn't look up and pass when others are in a good position, its so frustrating because he works his bollocks off and his attitude is admirable. He also wins ZERO in the air, ever. And can't hold the ball up.I think i would let him go tbh.

Mikkelsen and Andreu can both chip in with goals but both are virtually anonymous for me when they ain't getting service or on their game.

Blair Spittal played well again.Yet another good goal (he only scores good goals btw) and must be in with a shout now of being offered a new deal.

A dissapointing result but one we deserved no more or no less from.

Our season will be over on Friday.Comfortable victory for Falkirk imo (2 or 3 nil).

Re: Dundee United v Falkirk

I guess most folk saw the game. Either being at Tannadice, or watching it live on the box. Seek if I'm being honest. Thought we really needed a win at least the night to have a chance. Now we need a miracle. My view is probly too simplistic for most fowk, but we now need to play to a much higher level on Friday, otherwise we're gubbed.

Thought we actually played well until Murray scored.  Then just stopped.  Rest of the game we were garbage.

Up against it now.  It's going to be so so tough there especially on thon pitch which is a disgrace.

Re: Dundee United v Falkirk

First goal is crucial on friday, we must get it or face another ass whipping through there

Re: Dundee United v Falkirk

Daft having Dillon even on the bench (Nicholls too) and then stupid bringing him on.

The foul on Murdoch should have been a booking. Did Madden even give a foul, I cannae mind?

Spittal to rb, Fraser on would have been my choice: what do I know?

Murray got a fine goal, then fucked up a couple of opportunities to play other players in in the period in which we dominated. To his credit, he's a pest.

On to Friday: it's a game we can win, for Falkirk aren't really anything.

Re: Dundee United v Falkirk

I forgot: the dafty who overwatered the pitch should be sacked.

As should the person who then sent out the team wearing blades.

Re: Dundee United v Falkirk

Not beyond the realms of possibility to go there and win the game, however odds are stacked firmly in Falkirk's favour. Thought the short spells when we were in the game we did pretty well but when we dropped out of it we were p*** poor. The lack of squad depth is scary when you look at our bench- no one to change a game. That itself will be our undoing as we are just not equipped to play so many games in such a short period of time.

Said this on Facebook and got laughed at for it and accused of moaning for the sake of it. Basic stuff.

Players are responsible for their own footwear, however I'm not sure how late the pitch was watered, it's conceivable that during the warm up the firm ground boots (blades) were suitable then a heavy watering made that boot choice unsuitable.

Anyway, was embarrassing to see and definitely was the root cause of the first goal we conceded.

Re: Dundee United v Falkirk

Kuate shouldn't be offered a deal for next season. He isn't strong mentally. I've never seen a player fall to bits like that in my life. We cant afford to have players who need their hands held through games.

Robson I felt kinda sorry for. The amount of times he would get the ball and look for a pass up the line to find there was nobody there was astonishing. Rays tactics/housty's change of shape shafted him last night.

Dillon was woeful. Passing utterly abysmal. Made a few tackles but even then was lucky.

Bell getting off lightly too. Flapping at crosses, fluffed his very first kick, caught out with the free kick. He, of every one, should know better. He was done by similar when playing vs Motherwell in the playoffs couple years back.

Aye, you're correct, I was typing that in a state of fury, with drink not helping.

Robson was isolated once Raymond realised he had to put Spittal over to cover for Dillon. I'd think about Spittal at rb on Friday.

Re the slipping and sliding - I'm told the pitch was heavily watered at the request of the United players, who of course then spent the next ninety minutes slipping on their arses ffs

Acht, I've calmed down now: it is possible the players did request this, recalling the amount of times the two carthorse centre halves for FFC slipped and tumbled in the game in April. We could have (as often) scored a barrowload from Falkirk mistakes that day.
