Play off semi final first leg.
Home tie we need to win atleast 2-0 in my opinion. Falkirk seem to score quite alot late on we need to really beat them at home.
They will be backed by a noisy support fot this.
Bell
Murdoch
Durnan
Edge
Robson
Wato
Telfer
Spittal
Andreu
Murray
Mikkelson

Flood will play, his older legs were rested a little last night that's all. Would agree we need to win on Tuesday to have a chance.

Same team as Friday for me.Why break a winning team?
Incidentally Dixon has been roasted against Falkirk this season.Robson hasn't been great i agree. But at least he can get better. Also a wee bit similiar to Spittal in as much as we don't seem to lose as many games or goals when he's in the team. When Dixon's brought in we do.
Can't just be a coincedence?

Agreed.

Absolutely massive that we win tomorrow, hopefully by 2 or more goals. Need to have some breathing space for going down there on Friday because we WILL concede at Falkirk.

Definatly
I think we will score down there but need a 2 goal lead going into it

I think they will just sit in tomorrow, play for set pieces and try to nick a goal.

They are but our record against them, especially down there this season is piss poor.
That doesnt fill me with great confidence.

Of course they will aim to win set pieces: it's where we lose many goals.
Miller is especially adept at conning officials into awarding fouls, with the referee tomorrow being Bobby Madden.
Previous records count for nothing in the play offs.

Does Ray try and get a good win at home or play it cagey for the return leg that's his big decision, I'd like to see us really try and rip Falkirk apart tomorrow night personally and not take advantage of a home game and hopefully a noisy crowd.

Last time out there, we were minus Bell & Edge - arguably the most vital parts of our defensive unit.
Nicholls got 90minutes.
Toshney also started both games. Had a 'mare both games. Cant play in either leg because he's on his 8th injury (or something along them lines) this season.
Murdoch seems a bit more solid (and a bit quicker) than VDS which helps as he's up against (probably) hippolyte.
Maybe a wee bit more confident now looking back.

Hopefully put the tie to bed at home. Extra time and pens disna bear thinking about. Players would be gubbed.

I don't think it essential to go to Falkirk with a lead, 2 goals or otherwise. I just want United to be competitive a game plan which involves taking ZERO chances at the back, getting the ball forwards early and often and scrapping the practice of the silly little sideways and backwards, meaningless passes. I witnessed first hand the carnage of the 2 League games in Falkirk but consider we are in a better position now especially with a settled defence, some steel and class in the midfield and a couple of strikers who will put themselves around a bit. Falkirk are no great shakes and we can win there as well as at home if we learn our lessons.
What does put the fear in me is the ref. Madden had an absolute howler in the home game v Hibs. Where do I start. Holt played Edge, went down and instead of a foul to us, booked Edje. Watch out as Miller will be doing the same. Holt got away with running his studs down Andreu's shins, McGregor was un-punished after elbowing Spittal (who was off the field for 8 mins getting 3 stitches), McGregor was also un-punished after taking out Willo and Holt only received a booking for a series of fouls including handling the ball, grabbing Willo and pushing him to the ground and trying to fight with everybody, Graham was un-punished for kicking Fraser in the head. To cap it all he booked Willo (presumably being flung to the ground by Holt is a bookable offence in Madden's eyes) and Fraser for diving when he was punched in the abdomen by Gray. Given things are meant to even themselves out we should be due something special from Madden this time but I don't hold out any hopes. It important that we give Madden no opportunity to apply his dodgy decisions. Hopefully we get a proper ref in the 2nd leg

Nicholls was probably our best player down at Falkirk. That's how bad it was (I'm not joking btw).

I've erased both away games from my memory
Hopefully we can go there with a lead but it's not the be all if we don't

Nicholls was one of the worst that day, in my view. He kept standing on the wrong side of the touchline to receive the ball. I mind the official site gave Nicholls MotM, but he wasn't.
I thought Fraser was our best player, but he was subbied.

"There will be an opportunity (for home fans only) to purchase tickets on the evening from the ticket booth at the George Fox Stand or from the turnstiles at the Jerry Kerr Stand."
Asume the East Stand is near sold oot then?
We looked nervous as fuck 1st half v Morton. Amazing the difference in oor play after Wato made the tie safer. Hope oor fans can make Falkirk feel nervous. 2000 away support in a wee stadium like theirs is also an opportunity to level the home advantage.
I've no idea what results to expect.
