I think Murray's suspended, bowers.
Probably Coote could come in for him, but Raymond may revert to one up front, unfortunately.
Donaldson too will probably play, instead of Dillon, and I cannae see Flood being dropped, although there is a strong case for it.

Murray's got a 1 match ban on 6th May under the totting up procedure.

Murray is suspended.
In light of that my team would be.

Murdoch..Durnan..Donaldson..Dixon
Spittal.........Kuate......Flood.......Robson

Subs - Zwick,Dillon,Telfer,Coote
Allardice,Nicholls,McMeekin
We are really down to the bare bones now and don't even have a forward on the bench we can call on.
Thankfully Morton will likely rest several players. So we could well win this game and need to hope Dumbarton can do us a big favour.

I wouldn't have Robson anywhere near the team after his 2nd half performance last week.

He wasn't any worse than Murdoch tbqh who took a roasting off of their left sided midfeilder (Harvey?).
We really don't have many other options though i'm afraid to say.

Murdoch never flogged a goal though. Granted Flood played a part in the goal too but once again, Robson's inability to clear his lines properly put us in trouble.

Think you are being harsh on him tbh.
Their 2nd goal (if that's what you mean?) Flood unforgivably gives away a simple 10 yard pass and then Murray shites out of a 50/50 challenge on the halfway line before Robson is even involved. And tbf the Dumbarton player scored with aplomb.
I would fwiw take him out the firing line at LB and try him 20 yards further forward where his mistakes won't be as clinically punished.

Before Flood gave the ball away Robson had an easy header on the edge of the box. Instead of heading it wide and away from the box he headed it inside and straight to three of their players. Flood then robs one of them then gives it away. My wee lads under 9's team flogs goals like this on a weekly basis as do we.

Dixons been brutal also but this is the position we find ourselves in.
We are limited to what we have. With murray being out id maybe bring coote in the starting 11

I'd make one change and put Allardice in for Donaldson. Allardice plays CB in dev team and deserves a chance there. I'd hammer home to the players the absolute need to be safe at the back at ALL times - take no chances and no clever stuff or unnecessary passing (are you listening Willo) anywhere in your own final 3rd.

1-1 draw at best imo

£18 to get in on Saturday, £12 for Tuesday.
Think I'll give Saturday a miss, and save my cash for the games next week.

Morton have nothing to play for, we do,
Morton will rest half their team,
We won't.
All points to a defeat for United.

Dinna ken if anybody else has noticed this, but there is a danger in there from our perspective. Morton play their young lads - tell them it's Ok if they go in we hard tackles or kick the sh1t out of us - we end up we a couple of injuries - of coorse it doesna matter to them if they get Yellow'd or sent aff - coz they'll no be playin in the play-affs.

He is out for the resmainder of the season apparently Bill. Not sure what his injury is.
He has played his last game for us basically.
Willo the Wisp is getting blamed for Sons' 2nd on Saturday like he deliberately set the boy up. He touches the ball in a game probably more than anyone & his infamous 10-yard pass at their goal was maybe as much down to a team mate not anticipating. Flood this season has been consistently one of our better players & his signing at the start of the season was on par with Cammy Bell's.
On a separate note Morton will not rest half their team nor pick some young hooligans to kick us. It doesn't work that way.
If Murray's suspended (shame, I'll bet he's bursting a gut to atone for last week but then it keeps him fresh for Tuesday or a week on Tuesday) it's a great chance for young Ali Coote to make an impact from a starting berth.

Because he touches the ball more than anyone doesnt mean he actually does anything good with it though. Imo hes been very dissapointing this season.
Its in mortons interest to rest players today. We wont know til 2pm but imo theyd be daft not too. Not saying theyll rest half a team but wouldnt surprise me if 2/3 were left out of starting line up for them.

Agree, he's not been close to a good signing for us.
His style of play is not good for the team, appreciate his effort at times but largely that's all it is.
His passing at times is very poor but generally all this pass 10 yards to a team mate then run 5 yards to him to take it back .....mostly sideways or back.
Just lets teams get everybody behind the ball and keeps our team too deep eventually leads to the pump it up the park option...possession lost .....Simon gets enough discussion on here.
Then there's the headless chicken routine which has him constantly out of position leaving our defence exposed....a few guilty of that in fairness.
Flood should be part of clear out IMO.
On today, Duffy has been resting players in recent weeks and will very likely do so today again as he clearly has worked out importance now of play offs not league as their position secured.
Not his style to send out a team of kickers either, don't see that happening, he's got Morton in there as a credible promotion challenger with nowt to fear from us or Falkirk. Getting the plaudits down Greenock for that alone never mind how he fares in play offs, can almost send them out without pressure as already doing better than perhaps expected and giving their community club a real boost too.
They'll want to win though today but their real focus is Tue & Friday.

Incidentally is Cappielow fit for the premier league?

The problem for us is Morton leaving out a couple of players, but beating us while Falkirk drop a point or three. While we've played our strongest team.
It would be a problem for Morton too, albeit a pleasant one, in that it would give Duffy selection decisions to make come Tuesday.

Not sure , perhaps not?
Perhaps puts them in a good position, Duffy becomes a hero if they get there.....then no worries to them get to stay where they are for next year with no big ground upgrade expense to find themselves coming back down again.
Well run club....might have another plan in place to go/stay up if they win their games?
