Re: Wee Futba Quiz - sort oe

Following the shenanigans yesterday, for those of youz interested,  the answer is that they personally have all had songs written and recorded about them. There are many more but the names listed were the ones in the Quiz question.

Try to list some of them here.
Jerzy Dudek - ?
Fashinu - Magic Lunchbox
Mario Gomez - Ersan?
Johnny G (Guidetti) - Badpojken
Zlatan - Sanjin & Youthman
Manuel Neuer - Khan Kaleb
Pat Nevins Eyes - The Tractors
Lukas Podolski - ?
Gary Speed - Lars Vaular
Strachan - The Hitchers
Zinadine Zidane - Vaudeville Smash

There are many more of coorse. Ronaldo etc.

The most unique which winna be a surprise is George Best.  He has 3 or 4 songs recorded about him. Don Fardon - Belfast Boy, Finbar Furey - The Ballad of George Best, one by Brian Kennedy (title escapes me).

My favourite track about George Best, For Those Who Love To Live is by Thin Lizzy. On their 5th album Fighting which I've had since 1975. I was lucky enough to have a pint with Phil Lynott and Brian Downey, in Foreigners IIRC, when Lizzy were in Dundee playing at the Caird Hall. I actually asked them who the song was about, and Phil Lynott smiled and said, "it's about me pal Bestie".

Another load of useless information for a Sunday mornin. Well done to Pat Reilly for getting it right and for some of the info.
