In light of the (possible) signings of Nicky Devlin and Billy King, got me thinking about our old signing policy under Levein and Houston.
Was always the boys who had something about them, had ended up in the lower echelons of the game or were trying to kick start their career. Scouting lower leagues, non leagues, Irish leagues - I think this could serve us well again.
Peterborough just signed a boy from Dover - Ricky Miller. He hit 40 last season. Fair enough it's below the national league but anyone banging in 40 in professional football isn't to be sniffed at. Peterborough know their strikers aswell, have taken gambles on boys and sold them for decent cash in recent years after banging in goals for them.
Even up here you have boys like Greig Spence at Alloa, Sutherland at Elgin all banging in goals. There's gems out there waiting to be found.
Supppse what I'm saying is that if Darren Taylor takes a leaf out of Houston and leveins books and gets scouring the lower leagues, he will find boys to do a job.
I'd much rather we signed Someone with a hunger to develop and move on than couple of Dutch thirty odd year olds here for a jolly.

Would be a very good signing, definitely rate the boy. Would have thought though that clubs of a higher level would be sniffing around him though. Cant see it happening if I am honest.
