I wouldn't be promoting anything Jackie fucking McNamara said beh christ. The man was an utter imposter.

Flood seemed disciplined enough under McIness btw.

Aye I do think it is quite strange that we ridicule (quite rightly) every thing Jackie says and does but are ready to believe that story about Flood.

Said the same a couple of weeks back when this was mentioned.  His lack of discipline is down to the manager he's playing for.  If he's always out of position it's the managers responsibility to sort that out.

He wasn't mate. I have a ton of mates that support Aberdeen from working up there and they said the same thing.
McInnes maybe kept him on a shorter leash as he clearly can do a job.
No doubt McNamara and McNamara Lite (McKinnon) have done fuck all in the way of managing him but he should be able to maintain positional discipline at this stage in his career.
Apart from the first month of the season he has been a real disappointment

Re: Utd v Dumbarton - Saturday 29/4/17 (5.15pm)

Today was just another painful reminder that we will be down here next season.

4 games versus Dumbarton this term and they have been the better side in 3 of them.

We may get by Morton who are in a real downturn in form (though we may not also). But Falkirk will take care of us at their patch.

If by some miracle we got to the Play-off Final we would be soundly beaten by Accies,Motherwell or Dundee.

Depressing as fuck.

I don't understand what's in question here.
It's pretty common knowledge flood was offered a new (poorer) deal by Jackie.
It's common knowledge Jackie didn't rate him
It's common opinion from fans of most teams he's played for that while he is high intensity, his positional discipline is poor
Poor discipline has a negative impact on other players

What's people's opinions on how he's been performing this season? To they contradict what's being said on this thread?
Do the people commenting go to the games and if so, do they see his little temper tantrums at other players? Or do they see that as commitment?

What are we disputing here?

At least JM is now  somebody elses problem. York will be regretting the day they employed that clown. Involved in 3 relegations in 3 years what a man.

Worse than that, 3 relegations in 2 seasons.

Re: Utd v Dumbarton - Saturday 29/4/17 (5.15pm)

Was at a night oot last night, right efter the gehm, so was able to drown my sorrows. Feelin loupin this moarnin. Wasna a bad result as such, but I still feel  absolutely phuckin gutted TBH.

Thirs lots to say aboot the gehm.

Great header by Andreu for the 1st. Well deserved considering how we were playing for the 1st 35 mins.

Dumb goal 1. Fae coarner. Did anychunt notice that when they got a coarner, they always had 2 guys stationed right on the edge of the box at either side? Was only a matter of time before that worked for them, and it did on this occasion. Ba comes in. Spittal doesna clear well. Boy on the right chips the ba in, and Thomson gets awa fae Murdoch.

Dumb goal 2Flood the dud wins the ba, but a p1sspoor pass to Murray. Stanton goes toward the box. There's 3 on him, Durnan, Kuate and Donaldson. Nae chunt on Vaughan. Stanton lifts the ba to Vaughan. Bell comes aff his line, and Vaughan slips it below him.

Our 2nd was a great bit of interplay.  Ba comes oot to Flood. Flood to Murdoch. Murdoch to Andreu. Andreu to Spittal. Spittal to Coote. Thump. Martin stops it, but Big Mick finishes well.

4 misses by Murray in the 1st 9 mins. Over the bar at 23 mins.Another past the post at 56 mins. Over the bar at 78 mins. Into the playpark on 81 mins. Poor attempt at 87 mins. Ffs. 2 over the bar by Kuate. 1 by Flood. Donaldson miss at 70 mins. Big Mick header over. Reckon we musta had well over 20 attempts.

Missed chances = missed opportunity. We've now to hope that we can beat Morton and Borussia Dumbarton skin Falkirk.

good bit of day after analysis there BH. I walked out of Tannadice yesterday totally pissed of. However that must be the most clear goalscoring chances we have created all season. Sadly most of them fell to Murray . I think Murrray just cemented his release yesterday sadly just not good enough.

Simon was a laddie lost last night and he actually looked it, rabbit in the headlights when he got a shouting second half, was brutal to watch. The one he put oot the stadium sealed it for me but not Ray, lasted the 90 mins but only because he had no idea or option on the bench.

We are going no place as long as Simon is a first pick for us, he's just not good enough at all and needs replaced in the summer not kept.

Murray far from the best but think he would improve with some real competition for his place.

Bad day at the office for him

Re: Utd v Dumbarton - Saturday 29/4/17 (5.15pm)

Yes he's oor 2nd top scorer , but the laddie is nae where near good enough, he doesni have any sort of footballing brain. You see some oh the runs he maks and you just think to yourself 'what's he dain' his first touch is nonexistent his composure is shocking. All round just a very poor player,
the fact he wasn't subbied yesterday shows u oor squad.

Re: Utd v Dumbarton - Saturday 29/4/17 (5.15pm)

Murray's got strengths as well as weaknesses (some of our lot only have weaknesses). He scored 15 in a team that doesn't create much, has a few assists, can cross a ball and works his socks off. If he had less weaknesses he'd be scoring goals for a bigger team in a bigger league. When he leaves us (unlike others) he will have no shortage of offers and from teams playing at a higher level. He's far from perfect will have his fair share of duff games, like last night, but he's nowhere near our biggest problem. .

I have been a big Flood fan but that's beginning to change. Last night for the 1st 30 mins or so Kuate ran the game and this was the best we've played for some time. Kuate wasn't messing about with the silly go nowhere passes, he was getting the ball forward and I thought for the 1st time in ages that we might just have found the formula that would give us a chance in the play-offs. However once Kuate was subbed, Willo took over and reverted back to the game plan thats got us relegated and struggling in this division including flogging the 2nd goal. Kuate's fitness is going to get better and with Andreu and hopefully Fraser along side him, there is a glimmer of hope that we might just about have a chance now in the play-offs

Bring back the (real) "United Way" not the kiddy-on Martin version

Agreed, badly needs dropped, but the laddie Robert Thompson who looks more of a player was released and we are £50k down on the deal.

If you say so.

Dunfermline fans I knew were laughing that we paid for Noel hunt - a livewire striker - who they didn't think was up to much. HE scored a load for us alongside Jon daly and got a big transfer down south - why can murray not do the same?

Re: Utd v Dumbarton - Saturday 29/4/17 (5.15pm)

Noel Hunt was tremendous for Dunfermline,, he's a legend with their support.

Murray just hasn't got enough natural talent or positional instinct to be any better than he is just now.  His first touch is poor, his finishing poor, decision making poor and off the ball he never looks like he really knows what he's doing and his positional sense is woeful.  He tries hard tho but that's not enough.
