Ok Gents let's cut the bull.

there is a bit of a clear divide on here these days.

Let's get straight to the point.

Certain folk (not everyone...but some) think guys like Bowers,Offshore,Blackandtangerine are just here to post 'negative' posts and/or cause trouble.There's also a belief that they 'team-up' is that fair of me to say?

Flip side is that posters such as the chaps i have mentioned feel they at times are getting trolled or provoked into biting by posters like Beharder,CanadianArab,Fookintwat (not that he has been posting much of late) and that these guys will always defend Thompson no matter what.Again is that fair?

Then there are guys like me and quite a few others (probably the majority actually) who probably have a foot in both camps i.e. are desperate for a regime change but are perhaps more shall we say 'philosophical' about how that comes about and feel there is scope for how that is debated.

Ok so if i am right all this is resulting in endless back-biting,sniping,judging and us all going round and round and round again till the end of time about the same subjects all fundamentally wanting the same thing (Dundee United's fortunes to drastically change for the better) but all not quite agreeing with how we get there.

Passions are running high.They have all season and with the season reaching it's 'make or break' stage i feel it's going to boil over on here soon.

I don't want posters to leave (on both camps btw) or feel they are getting singled out or chastised (not my style).This site has already lost enough good posters in the last year.

So to ccut a long story short i have a possible solution.

I am thinking of trialing another Dundee United Sub-Forum on here lightheartedly called 'The Cuckoo's Nest'.

This Sub Forum will be for shall we say some of the more 'extreme' views.This means threads on the main Dundee United Forum on subjects such as 'the new away strip' or 'The Development League' won't constantly be derailed with posts descending into 'GTF Thompson' and countered with 'who are the credible backers?' etc etc etc.

If youewant to post vitriol about anything Utd related for example a thread that might be titled 'Mckinnon OUT NOW' then do it on 'Cuckoo's Nest'.That way NO-ONE can moan about your posts.Don't like posts like that...don't read that Sub-Forum.Simple.

Good idea or a recipe for anarchy...i genuinely don't know i am just throwing it out there.What say you all?

Tek, looks like im the main issue, just global ban me and IP ban me, everyone can live happily ever after in their wee tangerine tinted bubbles and talk about how good this league is and how wonderful everything is. Thats the best idea IMO. If i cant post i cant upset the easily offended on here and i cant reply to people to have a go at me or a dig at me as most dont want to reply and back up any comments or arguments.

I have gave you a week away from here Jim (for your own good as well).

I am loathe to IP ban anyone.

Take the week away and if you still feel like that in a week i will carry-out your request as you wish.

But as i say i am loathe to do that.And felt the Sub-Forum could be a possible solution.

I think it's a great idea, bit like the old firm thread on P&B where people can go to vent and have a ding dong, If like me you're no into that then you can come here to discuss things in a less vocal way. This way it keep everyone happy and maybe posters will stay longer if they are not having to read things that they find uncomfortable.

I believe the 3 stooges mentioned are exactly the kind of mad posters people came here to avoid. They have an agenda and abuse anyone who questions it

affshore has banned boys on Mad for way less than the kind of vile rant he's come out with on here ( and yes I do know Leedsy's previous).

I got perma banned for trolling dees

No from me with a sub forun like that.

If people dont like posts they dont need to read and or reply to them.
I took a break from here the other week due to certain posters one of which has went back to utd mad after slating it.
We wont all agree on all subjects as i said earlier place would be boring if we did.
If anyone cant handle that then posting here or any where i would say isnt for them. Its a hard time being a utd fan right now and alot not happy and not agreeing on things but ive no seen many fall out. Argueing, opinions differing yes. Possibly a few words ott whixh i have been guilty of myself towards some but im not falling out we boys on an internet forum. Fuck me im a 29 year auld if i couldnt take a comment from someone on here or online id give up on it altogether.

Ps. Can u reopen the thread and just delete comments you dont like as was a good thread.

Excuse me. If i am one of the aforementioned 3 stooges well yer havering shit as myself and bowers hardly posted on mad. Teks offered an option and first thing you do is post shit .

It sounds fine to me as well. I would add that Arab Angry on Facebook is probably the place for people to vent their spleen on every issue about ST.

I don't think it's that bad on here tbh, there's very occasionally a post that's it, but it's rare. Some folk are maybe a bit more sensitive than me tho.

If you think it'll help try it, can always change it back.

If peopletthink the 'Mad lot' are ruining things then i will create a mini Mad Forum for want of a better term where you can say what you want (personal abuse still not on of course).

The posters put off by such posts can still enjoy the main Board and it's up to them if they want to read or post on Tek2.

You then have two pages to moderate on all things utd.

As i said in my post people need to grow up. You are saying yourself you dont think its that bad. So if people cant handle it they ate no great loss

I kind of agree with you there tbh.

It would be a boring Forum if everyone agreed and i personally don't really bother what anyone might say about me.It's only a football forum.

But it should be enjoyable and an 'escape' when you log-on for the most part.

If even you are saying that you wanted to stay away from here because of other posters then i think some common ground has to be met somewhere.

See tomorrow i'll go to the pub to meet my mates and fellow utd fans. We'll talk about things and have a wee debate. They might not like what i say , i might not like what they say but none of us want to leave the pub because we disagree on utd ffs. Some folk really need to start wearing trousers .

I get where you are coming from but don't we already have mad for that? I still read mad sometimes but never post.

I'm not advocating a no sweary, No discussion, board where we all have to fall into line but I certainly post here because it's a bit more sane than mad? As I said before, I've no problems with any individual and will try to grab a beer with J before a game soon.

Calling the sub forum The Cuckoo's Nest for starters is inflammatory for starters.

Not for me even though I hardly post on here.

A good forum should be able to handle all sorts of debates or differences surely?

BBC 606 was by far the best in my opinion.
