Does seem unlikely but I've looked through the 270 below the line comments on the Guardian article and no one has disputed it.

Wikipedia shows no appearances (though only shows '0' at one club and leaves the other 8 blank)

It does however credit him with one goal for Bangu despite having no appearances....which somehow seems apt

He's only credited with that one goal for Bangu and that one appearance is the only recorded I can find too so has a record of scoring 1 goal per appearance in a 2 decade career whilst playing for the top 4 teams in Brazil amongst others. 😂😄🤔

GOAL a game record is recorded for proof but 2 decades = a 10 second clip with music to match the mullet...
