Re: Very worrying times...

Mind this was being dressed up in the Tully and Courier as an 'investment' tae?

The Dundee press are a disgrace.

Would rather watch the club go to the wall than rock the boat and ask any difficult questions.

In all seriousness, if ST let the club go into administration he and his family would likely need to leave the area - they are already getting stuff shouted at his family / libellous things being posted online - you think that wouldn't intensify?

As a businessman, it's not in STs best interests to have such a high profile administration - but guess it doesn't hurt to have a back up plan.

Would you lend him or any other business large amounts of money without a guarantee.

I Think (hope) this is being blown out of proportion. Don't get me wrong - clubs finances appear to be in a dire state but not sure the lights are ready to be turned off, as some are indicating.

Sooner ST meets the fans groups, the better

'As a Businessman' Has he owned business before he inherited United??

Nope,he hasn't.

Worth remembering that Eddie wanted to appoint Justine as Chairwoman when he was on the way out.

This despite ST having been on the Board for what?5 years previous?

Speaks volumes. Now more so than ever.

Was a director at morning noon n night. But picking out 1 line from that post is a wee bit pedantic .

Re: Very worrying times...

Does it say how much David Hamiltom has loaned the club?
A few weeks back after cath had given the £500k loan we heard another loan of £200k was put in from someone possibly David Hamilton? As he has now appeared on companies house with security over the hydro building.
The american banker stumps up £300k
If this is correct that is 1 MILLION quid since january to plug the gap as was said in the media in March.
Seriously what the fuck is going on? At this rate nobosy will want to buy the club as its a sinking ship with no assets to turn around.

Thompson currently in the US talking to another 'investor'.

Presumably using the Oor Wullie statue as security.

Re: Very worrying times...

I guess the best we can hope is that the money ain't all spent and some of it is for next season (any chance of a clutching at straws emoji Tek?)

Not utterly impossible as you'd think the American at least would have done due diligence and has no desire to become the owner of a bit of Gussie Park or an industrial unit or whatever?

It's working for me, it's a link to the latest charge now available on companies house 500k for security over Gussie etc.

The one for David Hamilton isn't up yet.

Re: Very worrying times...

So 500k from Cath and 500k from Alastair. Just the David Hamilton loan to go now. The amount of shit this man and his cronies are getting us into is quite frightening.

Re: Very worrying times...

There seem to be multiple loans of £500k, from 3 individuals.

Am I reading this right - that they each have securities on these loans, of the properties, Gussie Park, the Club Shop, the Car Park and this Hydro building?

It looks to me like Cath and Alastair Borthwick have security between them on 4 different parts including Gussie.  Both loaned 500k each.

David Hamilton has security on the Hydro building but the charge isn't up yet, so not sure how much he's loaned us.

Re: Very worrying times...

Aye. Sounds a bit bizarre. I didna think you could take oot 2 loans from 2 different lenders, and offer the same property as security on both loans.

Eg. Your hoose is worth £500k. You go to Bank of Scotland, and borrow £500k from them, and put up your hoose as security for the loan. You then go to TSB, and borrow £500k from them tae. Again you put up your hoose as security. Then you default on both loans. So the lenders want to take possession of your hoose. But they canna, can they, because they would each have a claim on it.

Am I reading this right or up the wrang dreel ?

Initially it seems odd, agreed, but I'm guessing there's an agreement of a 50/50 split on the properties.  The total value of them is prob double the total loans on them anyway so they could both still profit.
