Thoughts - do we get Cammy Ballantyne, Brad & Matt Smith Davor Suker & other loanees back for the play-offs - with one or two emergengy loanees we could virtually have a new team. I'm now away to think about how we could improve the management.

Not sure if any loaned out players can play. Remember we got caught out last season with coote and robson up at Inverness.  Had to be back at parent club by march 31st. It may be different cos its play offs though.

Re: Play offs

There is a cut off point for bringing in emergency loanees and unfortunately it's passed.

Not sure about the boys on loan but I'm pretty sure their loans would extend till June so they could play in any any potential play-off's for their loaned club.

Re: Play offs

The boys who were out on loan can't play.

Re: Play offs

I'm a wee bit concerned by the number of bookings we may have been given in the past few weeks. Is the slate wiped clean for the play-offs, as I believe it should be, as it is considered a different competition?

Plus, one of the three teams from our division play two less matches, so a fresh start would appear fair.

Re: Play offs

Out of interest, is the Scottish playoff the only 2 legged final on the go anymore?
Copa del Rey might be but can't remember.
Playing it over the 2 legs really diminishes any sense of occasion and the only people interested are the teams involved.
When you look at how the English playoffs are marketed and done, it shows up the governing body again as incompetent.
Would be better with a 2 up 2 down approach based on the levels of interest

Fair chance our first game will be away to Morton on wednesday 10th May then the 2nd leg at home that saturday.

We need dumbarton do us a favour sat at home to falkirk and we can manage to beat morton who have hit a dip giving us a 2nd place finish.

Re: Play offs

League format should be two go straight down. One goes straight up and 2nd to 5th go into playoffs.  Same sort of format as english championship.

Re: Play offs

Or a straight 2nd Bottom vs 2nd top as it was against Plastic whistle. The extended playoffs dilute the quality as well as the chances of the Championship runners up.    This would have put the pressure on McKinnon to deliver, much more than he has shown so far.

Re: Play offs

Yeah. 2nd bottom SP v 2nd top SC would be fairer. However in our present circumstances, leave it for now.

But finishing 3rd (us) or 4th (Morton)  in a league of  10 is hardly a great achievement.

Re: Play offs

All ticket so season ticket holders get the first chance to buy the best seat , not because there expecting a bumper crowd. sounds fair enough to me

Pish, they could have still sold tickets so folk could get them if they wanted without it being all ticket.  All it does is make life more difficult for folk to get there, particularly if they don't know for certain they can go till late on in the week.

Might not get the best seat though as season ticket holders can get upto 10 tickets per season ticket. Nae harm in allowing a season ticket holder a day to reserve their own seat surely.
